Woah! That was wild weather yesterday. Trees down in the village. River levels up. But thankfully no flooding and checking this morning no obvious damage so we are doing OK. Dogs and I hunkered down with the wood burner burning the old shed and stayed warm and dry. None of us were keep to go out so we didn't! OH was not so lucky. She was on a work trip up north and got trapped there by the fire at Crewe station that stopped trains back south. So had to find a hotel for the night - may well have to find that from our budget - will see if she can claim it back. But we have some lee way now so it is not too bad. Hopefully she'll get home later today.

Otherwise all still quiet. Have had a headache this morning so gave myself permission to relax a bit and not try to work through my lists. Won't have been the most productive week I've ever had but I did get £35 from workshop sale and have two more payments due in today and tomorrow so am OK.
  • Morning Miz,

Sorry to hear your oh did'nt manage to get home, fingers crossed she can claim it back through work, would be unfair to have to find that yourselves.

I have taken it easy yesterday and today. full of a cold and i am useless when I am ill. No stamina :o.

Weather is abit better today, but more to come tomorrow I think.

Keep buring that shed and keep warm. Hope the headache is all gone. I am trying to start a reluctant woodburner this afternoon. We are out of firelighters and it just does'nt seem to want to get going.

    Take care xx

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: Dodgy hugs for all ....

Sounds like you coped really well with the situation being that bad, Miz, though a headache is very debilitating. And fancy your OH being caught up in that fire! I saw the first mobile phone shots of the crowds outside the station ... scary stuff, live power cables going on fire, with shattered glass all over the place :( I'm glad she's okay. Love the idea of burning the old shed in the woodburner tho, thats brilliant :)

Steph, sorry you're bad too - I have no stamina at all, so I really *get* how much a cold can knock you for six.

I'm not in a badly affected area, thank heavens, but clouds and *really* heavy showers keep racing by, and it looks like night. Weird winter. I've written the cat-care-in-evacuations article that I wanted to write so much, and now I just need to incorporate some stuff from a news item I wrote a month or so ago, and I'm ready to roll.

Its definitely a duvet day though, for peeps that are under the weather. Take care all.

She was stuck North of Crewe Karma so not actually in the station thank goodness - sounds like it was a nightmare. But all the trains stopped running through the station of course so she had no chance of getting home last night. Good news is I think she is back in town (was going straight into work so I haven't seen her yet!). Phew.

Payment due today has been paid - £46 to add to the budget - plus I've just had a call from someone else booking a place. All good. Will add that one when the cheque arrives - and tomorrow's when it is paid so for now just need to add the £81 from yesterday and today.

Spent a little today - valentine present for OH and "top up" groceries - plus a chest mounted harness for my iPhone so that I can film work with dogs hands free as I am moving. That one is a business expense and I decided that it was needed if I was going to do more video-based tutorials. It was £17.50 but I think worth it as this is a major part of several of my "expansion" plans. So total spend £40.17. More in than out which is good!

Just added up and I am only £60 short of my month's income target - and still have £97 expected from the remaining two sales. :j I won't stop there as it is only half way through the month - will see how much more I can get - but it is all very hopeful - and I haven't had to start the Matched Betting yet (so still have that to fall back on!).

Hey Miz ( and everyone ) I subscribed to your diary ( and karmas) but I don't seem to be getting the notifications :( sorry Miz and Kc, I do read them when I eventually get a message)

That's a handy idea with the iPhone holder, would be a very practical I reckon :)

Like others I have downloaded work flowy ( thanks for the idea, never knew such a thing existed) will need to figure out how it works but it looks fun

Keep on keeping on me dear and loving the read :)

Ye gods, those totals are brill, Miz, really excellent. The harness sounds fascinating, I can sort of visualise it, sounds a really good wheeze - you'd be able to show your clients exactly what they should expect to see if they're working *their* dog ...

I'm glad your OH wasn't in the dangerous area - tho being stuck on a train can be either boring or cold or both, sometimes.

El, don't worry, really - I don't know about notifications, actually, I just log in to the User CP and it shows me all the threads I'm subscribed to that have had posts since I last visited. I've got you to thank for bringing me back here to write a diary, and its been such a help, it really has :) (sorry for slight hijack there, mizmir!).

Yay! Have hit the target - just checked the bank and OH has been paid £100 for an extra gig that she did last week so we have passed the £1K mark over salary. :j:j

So that was in 2 weeks - I wonder if we can get another in the remaining two? :p
  • Morning Miz,

Fab news about reaching your target in two weeks:beer:.
If guess if you keep going it will make March that much easier.

the rain is pouring and the wind is whistling through gaps in the window frame here...Brrrrr when will this soggy winter ever end. I bet you could do with some dry days to be able to get out with your dogs with the filming. It has to end soon surely??

    Have a great day xx

That is my thought. I don't have any definite income on the horizon until the hosted workshops start in May - so March and April are going to be similar to February. Will be good to just blast on and bring in as much as possible. :)

I keep hoping but no sign yet - it is foul out there - definitely no chance of filming either outside or in my little studio shed as the noise is deafening in there when it rains! Will just have to work with footage I already have for now. A priority once I have this workshop sorted is to get my membership site up and running. It wont make money for a while since I have given free membership to the online course people to get it established and some value going - but in the long run it will be regular income (monthly subs). I also need to get an "on demand" course going that doesn't require my input and perhaps some ebooks. Then I might start getting some regular income rather than bursts when I organise an event or get a one to one client.

So much to do - really need to buck myself up!
