I consider it entirely reasonable that he should request the donation of a nominal sum (price of a cup of coffee) to contribute towards the considerable efforts he goes to to expose odious practices in the parking "industry".
We love you Pranky!!!All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797).0 -
Paying £3.60 is better than being unlucky enough to be taken to court and losing by not being prepared. And having a judge who decides to order you to pay what parking eye wants.0

I suppose its also worth noting that if Stephen King gave a free lecture on book writing techniques , you would still be expected to pay for a ebook download or printed book from a shop
some authors have given away some of their books or made them free to download, but expect to be paid for their work if in printed form , or any new books they write
its all a matter of perspective really, and we know prankster does free advice but he should be rewarded if he writes a book , or if he travels to help somebody in court too
some people just seem to expect everything for free , gratis !
everybody has the choice of what to do, buy it, or dont buy it, employ your own solicitor if you feel so aggrieved, people have to make up their own minds about this, but its definitely not expensive (even though I hate coffee)0 -

One of the guides is available for free and it runs to 83 pages. You can see a lot of time and effort has been put into it. I don't see a problem with Prankster charging to cover his costs on the other guide, especially given the effort he has put in."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Can't see a problem for charging a few quid for an ebook on the subject, this actually would be the first one I have heard of on private parking and how to defend against the biggest scamming, lying, scumbag shysters out there.
If this helps bring them down I advocate it fully! When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

I charge a nominal sum to fund things like court transcripts (£50-£200), travel expenses to help myself and others get to court cases, witness fees and such like. I don't make a profit from this; it all goes back into the pot.
Up to now all these expenses are being covered by just a few regular posters. This helps spread it out amongst the people who are actually benefitting from the advice.Hi, we’ve approved your signature. It's awesome. Please email the forum team if you want more praise - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Been spreading the word on this guide , it's amazing how many people still tell me they thought they were fines so it's doing some goodEx forum ambassador

Fair enough. The downside, though, is that with so many "pay for help" schemes across the board (not just in parking. Look at all the "pay for help in applying for a passport" sites), this guide could easily be seen as one of them.
I won't be paying for one (though that might change if I need it), and consequently I couldn't advise anyone else to get it as I've not seen it
I do understand what you say, truly I do. But the idea of paying for assistance in getting rid of these scammers just irks me in some way.
Personally I'd ask for donations from those who download it. But that's me. I do get where you are coming from, and your blog is a fantastic resource. But now it seems like one of those apps you download which requires payment to continue. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
The point is that you don't have to buy it if you don't want it. We will still advise on here and pepipoo on parking and defences for court claims. Prankster has obviously been funding court cases he helps with, so that could cost quite a bit.
Perhaps he should fund this by charging for each time he helps? Like bailiffadviceonline does? Ask the person running parking cowboys website how much they get in donations, I would bet its a pittance! Even pepipoo asks for donations. The point though is that it's all optional including this ebook.
This can save people far more than the few quid asked for, it's all in one place, it's not fragmented , and it comes through the benefit of real experience on dealing with parking eye, I would prefer something that helps people directly rather than getting differing advice from what could be said as wrong. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. I'm just amazed MSE hasn't done the same.0
