MSE News: Thousands of tenants to get bedroom tax rebate

I am absolutely infuriated by this,I gave up my 3 bed house in March after 17 years 4 months there, had to give away furniture for next to nothing that wouldnt fit in the smaller house, had the expense of moving and buying all new carpets and curtains. I'm now in a house half the size where the rent and council tax are more expensive! My cat was injured by some thug on the new estate and have a £650 vets bill. I now have to travel an hour each way to work, whereas my previous house was 10 minute walk. I just wish I'd stayed put as I've given up the protection of this loophole!!
So in short you were tying up a house with empty bedrooms for how many years?
Like many,I would love a bigger house,but I can't afford it.0 -

Well the rents obviously meet the LHA allowance.
So where are you?0 -

they are looking to close the loophole, if they manage it soon, then you would have still been paying it until 2015, then if Labour get in maybe another 6 months until they scrapped it, so maybe not so bad?0 -

I must have asked for your life story by mistake
if you want a house for life, buy one.
if you rent(nothing wrong with it) then accept the trade of for not paying for repairs etc is its not yours.
I love that you 'only' had one spare bedroom.0 -

yes they have, so which way has that swung you then :undecided0 -
there is nothing wrong with renting.
but the disabled have no prospects to improve their situation, and they are the ones being held hostage!
you seem to think that everyone in life has choice.
for many that choice is denied0 -

my original post was making the point that I had done what the government wanted by moving to a smaller property but in the process had made myself worse off, and this new development ie the loophole had just rubbed salt in the wound.
you needed to claim and so you should hurt.
god forbid you should have your needs met by anything other than your own sweat0 -
