MSE News: Thousands of tenants to get bedroom tax rebate

either way, tbh with you, if we are worried that someone may have a spare bedroom then it's a sad place to live, as said we are not talking swimming pools here, but a spare bedroom.
I'm on the waiting list and I keep getting offer 2 bed places, they add the comment that I will have to pay the bedroom tax if I take the property, why are they still offering these places to people if we are so in need of these bedrooms?
The money this tax brings in. is less than what the tories have just given as a tax alloance to married couples, it's nothing to do with saving money but all to do with getting voters from the public, the tories do not have any other popular policies so are making the most of kicking those on benefits, doesn't matter if the most affect groups are the disabled and the working, as long as the public think the tories are beating on those on welfare they are happy to do it.
Its not a spare room, its an empty room that could be used by people who need a property with that number of rooms0 -

And where do you propose those with a spare room move to if there's no suitable property available? Make themselves homeless just to house another family?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

You haven't answered my question.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

You seem to miss its the same question0 -

Plenty of 1 bedroom properties in the private sector. Albeit the Housing Benefit bill will jump up if everyone moved into suitable property in the private rented sector.
Apparently there will be plenty of empty properties to rent in Romania and Bulgaria - perhaps we could swap our unemployed with Bulgaria and Romanian workers? These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -

Oh there's plenty of 1 bed properties available here but they range from £650 pcm for a studio flat to £1800 pcm for a one bed apartment.
The LHA for this area for a one bed self contained property is £520 per month. See the problem?“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
It's clear that if both councils, housing associations and private landlords weren't wanting to make such a huge profit out of rent then there would be no need for so much to be spent on Housing Benefit.
Yet again it's all about lining someone else's pockets. Rich Russian, Chinese and Arabs are buying up properties is certain areas and doing a small amount of cosmetic work then raising the rents, I know that there is a ceiling that the LA will pay, but it is clearly set too high, if the properties were unrentable because of the cost then these landlords would be forced to reduce the rent to an acceptable level. Being expected to pay over half a months salary, sometimes more in rent is ridiculous.
The rich get richer and the poor sink further into the mud.0 -

Well there's a finite amount of social housing
so would the bill jump?
If so,where are the people living now,who would be moving into these vacated social housing properties?0
