Had one of February's planned drinking evenings, but the wine DH bought was vile. What a waste, to miss reaching my next smiley for something so enamel rotting.

I felt that way when I tried the low alcohol wine. What a waste of units.
  • After falling off the rails again for a few days I am going to pledge an afd for today. Back later to report my success. Gretcatlady it is so true what you say about it being more difficult when you have a choice over whether to drink or not. I found it much easier too in October when stopped for the month for Stoptober. Off now to take my doggie for a walk/ swim to her favourite place, as won't see her for a few days as off tomorrow to be Disneyfied with my two youngest cherubs. I thought at 13 & 16 they would have grown out of it by now, but no so off to stand in queues for a few days.
Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.
  • February is turning into a 'wetathlon' for me!!!! :)

Will not hit target of 23 this month now, think I just need more things to do in the evening than just slob in front of the TV.

I have drank 5 out of the last 8 days, where did that come from?

So calling in very early for 10 AF nights tonight and hopefully a lot more to come.

  • No more AFDs for me so now have to really get on track so declaring 5/14 for today, please Shaggy. As some of you know, I've been too unsure to declare "on the day" before but I'm determined today!

As to my name: Guy WITH Beard And Glasses - yes I really am that dull!

Good luck and best wishes to you all!

Greycatlady, I have said to DH, to myself and on here that I need to have all the rest of ferbruary as AFD to hit my target and so I have said 'I'm not drinking' and almost immediately the decision is made, everything is easier. I think I need to learn to find the 'just a couple of times a week' drinking button and I think that's going to be a challenge. I shall be working on that in March, but from now on, February is going to be dry!

I shall declare now, 12/24 please Shaggy

14/24 AFDs today, which gets me a second smiley, hurray.

I've had a lovely lazy day today, and spent many an hour browsing bay of e for items to decorate my farewell send off from work which will be on the theme of the Mad Hatter's tea party. Bunting, cake toppers and teapot, purple top hat and tailcoat ordered/bid upon. My lovely, crazy team love to choose a theme for birthdays. Recent ones have included pirates, fancy hats, wigs, etc.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Hello All,

So yesterday whilst I was out OH came to get some of his stuff (I deliberately went out). Whilst we are still "together" - and I'm the one creating this time apart - when I looked in the wardrobe today and saw his half of the shirts gone I was almost overcome with sadness.

I hear that he broke down at work the other day and had to leave the office (he's the Boss) and he has texted me numerous time bereft; having clearly reflected upon how he comes across.

I'm a boy from the wrong side of the tracks and his life has been the polar opposite. Somehow, despite my start and my own self destructive habits I have done okay for myself educationally & financially. He has experienced no life traumas so smaller things are bigger issues to him which is why - in part - I'm always able to calm him down or disregard his more annoying character traits.

I fear that whilst we have grown together over the years and truly are happy just us together, at the knoll of it all we want different things from life. I'm braver in life than he is and I pretty much trust the Universe that whatever will be will be. He is more limited in his outlook which then limits me as I give in as more in life worries him.

So back to the original issue. Am I alcohol free? Absolutely. I can't think of anything I'd want less at the moment than an alcoholic drink. 13/22 AF

    Thanks for listening

Oh Stupot, I feel for you and it sounds like you're in a really difficult place right now. Perhaps in the long run you really do need different things but is there anything you can both do together to work towards a solution - couples counselling or something similar?

Sorry to read that SPS. I hope you are able to work things out. Sometimes all that is needed is some time apart (and for the other party to realise and pull their socks up tout de suite!) ;)

1 more for me to report (tonight) ... I think that gives me my first smiley of the month... at last :o I am off out for dinner with a friend shortly but, as I have mentioned before, I rarely drink when I go out so can confidently say that I will not be drinking this evening!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I noticed how lovely and bright it was this afternoon here and stayed light for ages! Woohoo!!!
