  • Oh blimey, we've created a monster! ;) :T:T:T
  • I am so glad I was nosy about user names and thank you all for sharing!

Sukey, Stupotstu sorry about all the bad relationship stuff.

Hello again Ruby, I was here when you were December Baby too!

I got blottoed on Friday night, and was shockingly hungover on Saturday. I have a bad bruise on my shoulder and more on my legs and am quite lucky to have made it home. It was jagerbombs. Don't do it boys and girls. I did dance the night away at a nightclub too. I went to the pub after a grim week at work, drank 2 large glasses of wine and then lost count after that. Somehow going to a nightclub seemed like a good idea by pub close, and I am way too old for this! Mid 40's should know better. Drank a bit too much Sunday, and alcohol free tonight even though I met friends and spent the evening in the pub.

Shaggy that's 8/14 for me please.
  • Well done Alex!
And GCL your post made me laugh out loud!

    Sleep well everyone.
  • Was hoping to report AFD 9, but we went to inlaws to have dinner for FILs birthday. No problem I thought, all very low key and I'll drive. But I did get served half a glass of white (and it was half a glass, old people only have small wine glasses* I've decided), and frankly I felt it rude not to. I was on the water after that.

But I'm not ignoring it and will log it on the alcimeter.

Last weeks units were 11, pleased with that.

So sorry to hear about all having a tough time at the mo. You're all doing fabulously well to lay off the drink, or at least not drop straight back to old ways.

    * when a small glass was a normal glass.

    Good morning chums

Another AF night - bed at 9:30pm and into work for 8:30am - Im loving this clear head thingy and not spending days trying to recover from heavy sessions and topping up to keep myself 'freefall' free ;)

Gien - you made me laugh :rotfl:I agree there is absolutely nothing worse than a cold bath (when you are mara training they are a necessity to heal the muscles) soooo ive tried to change the 'amygdala' from pleasant thoughts at drinking wine to something totally horrendous to see if that helps:rotfl:(one can only try):T The next best thing to that yummy feeling of gulping wine is strong blackcurrant juice diluted with water :happyhear(more regular visits to the dentist me thinks ) AND...I went home last night to an empty house with the mindset that it was warm and cosy and it was mine - thankyou again for making that observation :T

Alex - good on you - respect :p

WBF - ooooh...I can feel your pain - been there done that and bought the T-shirt AND went back for more :rotfl:what switch could you have flicked to prevent you guzzling more wine??!! :( just asking cause I wish I had saved myself loads of embarassing moments strutting my stuff too :o and wish I had found a trigger to moderate my behaviour
    Shaggy 7/20 - Im a happy bunny :j

I'm glad you're using units as a measure as well as AF days. We all like to see out totals mounting, but it's not the only way of cutting down.:)

Strangely, I was musing about wine glasses the other night. I was emptying the dishwasher and it occurred that my DH uses small 'old fashioned' glasses (I think they're called Paris goblets) for his red whereas I use really large, fine stemmed glasses for my white. Result, he drinks far less than I do! It's strange but I believe it really adds to my enjoyment drinking from a large glass.

    No plans to drink tonight.

    8 AFDs please Shaggy.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Hello all. Can I join you please? I used to post in the forum a few years back under old username of decemberbaby (joined MSE on my birthday). Couldn't get logged in with that one now. I see you are still keeping the scores dear Shaggy so could I go for 22. I have done 12 already for February including tonight. I need to get a grip on my drinking again. Last year went downhill after losing both my best friend and my Dad within 4 weeks of each other.

Hope everyone's having a good evening and hope things improve for you SPS.

Welcomeback.gif and you're on the list! Sorry to read about your loss - I lost my dad last April too :(

My new target in my head will be 20 for the month.

More than happy to change your target if you want?
