Better to have the snacks than the booze YM. The day is very long when not shortened by having a drink or two isn't it?
I'm ticking off AFD 7 today.
Not prying at all piggles. Yes I am looking forward to coming back very much although I do realise that I think I'll have a reverse culture shock as it's a long time ago since I lived in the UK (I've visited of course and kept up friendships). Are you moving home too (you're meant to be packing boxes). Also well done on not turning to a drink with bad news - it's really easy to do that to take the edge of upset.Trying to keep in budget.

NO AFD for me. I have already failed failed failed and feel totally
ate loads of rubbish and far too much booze. Disappointed.
Do I really need it? Probably not.:A0 -
7/31 AFDs for tonight. It has gone quickly, without too many pangs. I told DH off last night for talking about having something to drink, because he didn't just mention it once, he mentioned it at least 3 times. I told him if he was going to have a drink then do it, but for God's sake stop talking about it.
He mostly drinks cider or whiskey which don't tempt me, but it was getting on my nerves. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
I wonder if I could join?
I began to find myself in the unfortunate position of a bottle of wine nearly every night in December, so things have to change! I have managed to stay off the vino since New Year apart from one day, where I only had a couple of glasses, so not bad!
So can I try for6/23
If I manage that I might go for the full month in February!LBM 1.1.16 = £27096.59 - now £17,020.38
Paydbx 2017 - £3588.90/£7000 = 51.27% - number 74
Paydbx 2016 - £6487.31/£7000 = 92.67% - number 740 -
Well, I thought I'd posted, but must have imagined that :rotfl:
Another AFD to add, making my total 7/31. A whole week without alcohol. I am inordinately proud of myself *smug smile*
Got an epic round trip to Sussex for my Grandma's funeral tomorrow, so won't be drinking as I'll be sharing driving duties. That's gonna be a tough one to get through without my usual crutch.0 -

smiley_77, I'm sure we've all been there, well I have. The thing to do is not let it go at this point in the month - pick up again tomorrow. It sounds like you are saying you've blown it all and you haven't. Tomorrow is another day.Just set a new January challenge - would that not work? ...

Dizzy Imp, I hope the funeral isn't too difficult for you. There hasn't been much alcohol around at the funerals I've been to, so maybe that might make that side of things a bit easier? ... Although maybe that's unusual - I don't know.

Thinking of you tomorrow dizzy. Designated driver is a good idea.NO AFD for me. I have already failed failed failed and feel totally

It happens. Now just draw a line and start again. Each and every AFD counts.
I wobbled myself tonight and I think if I hadn't already posted I might have succumbed. Nothing stressful, just travelling home with all the lights sparkling in wine bars, people having fun etc.
What is surprising is that my DH hasn't had a drink himself for a few nights. I think he's hoping to lose weight but he'll need to lay off cakes to do that but I'll let him find out that for himself. he says he's copying me so we'll see what happens when I have a drink at the weekend.0 -

It happens, Smiley, we all do it but as everyone else says, just draw a line under it and start again. I lost count of the number of times I said, 'Never again,' and 'I'll just have one or two and then stop.' Today's a new day, a new beginning and holds a lot of promise.I told DH off last night for talking about having something to drink, because he didn't just mention it once, he mentioned it at least 3 times. Well done for saying something, Satchmo. It's a bit like being a smoker and lighting up in front of someone who's on Day 1 of stopping, isn't it?pennies_from_Heaven wrote: »I wonder if I could join?

Welcome Pennies! Good to have you with us.
I hope today isn't too difficult, Dizzy and that you travel and arrive home safely afterwards. (((Hugs)))
Well done everyone who's earned their first smiley!
8/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning :hello:
2 more ALDs.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0
