Seeing that there's a few lost sheep coming back to the fold I'll join them and sign up for a dry January please Shaggy.:):o
In the end I managed to keep my drinking to a reasonable level in November and December and last night was completely AF, so a good start to January.
Lot's of thing changing here this year - we'll be moving back to the UK in July and I feel really stressed about selling the house and the move and all that stuff. Alcohol isn't going to help with that so I will need to be careful with my drinking. I also resolved to stop drinking caffeine.
Looking forward to the next months positively so Happy New Year everyone.

Morning all and a very Happy New Year to everyone. Ooooh, hello Gien! We cross posted. Lovely to see you rejoining. I hope the house sale and move go smoothly.
1/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning all, finally managed 6 AF days in December, not as good as I'd hoped but better than it would have normally been and still got tons of booze left!!!!
In a dilemma now for January, originally it was going to be dry but 2 more parties to attend tonight and tomorrow so might wait till Monday to start properly! So it's either going to be 29 or 31, would really like to get a 'smiley' this month.DF by Christmas 2014 #78 £18,964.15/£15,000

Happy New Year and welcome back gien
1/31 for tonight please shaggy. Thanks again for keeping scores. Guessing it'll be a busy month for you keeping up with everyone.0 -
To be honest I lost count of my AFDs in December, but I suspect that I missed my target of 18 by a day or two. Mind you, I did have my first AF Boxing Day in many, many years as I overindulged so much on Christmas Day. Last night was fairly sober too.
So, for January... I've done the whole Dryathlon thing before but this time I think I'll just go for a minimal drinking month so let's declare 24 AFDs.
Happy New Year to you all.0 -

Hi Gien, welcome back. When will your move take place? Start decluttering now. Try a local FB selling page which cuts out postage costs and fees to that well known auction site.
I cleared a bedroom and used that to stack packed boxes. The more information you put on the outside of the box the better, too.
Calling early with 1/31 AFDs for me today to start Dry January. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
:wave:gien, good to see you.:)
I'm full of admiration for those of you doing dry January but not attempting it myself.
Very happy with last night, saw in 2016 with a few glasses of bubbly but absolutely no hangover symptoms today whatever. Up nice and early and a walk along the beach. That's me controlling the booze not the other way round as it was when I first joined.
Anyone lurking, do join us if you'd like to give up or cut down. I can't promise it'll be easy but it'll be easier if you have the support and advice from this great thread.:)0 -
Ok. I have been on afternoons at work today so can declare 1/31 please Shaggy0
