Loving the Smilies, Shaggy, thank you! What a marvellous score-keeper you are :-)
16/20 AFDs for last night, and all the presents are wrapped (except the one I haven't bought because I wasn't expecting sister's "partner" to be on the scene, oops - quick nip out for sommat). Busy day today, as I'm sure everyone has. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
The dog dragged me past the chocolate shop this morning, which reminded me I've got to get OH's Christmas chox and then another lot for his birthday on 6 January as they don't re-open until the 8th.
24/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Shaggy certainly is a marvellous score keeper. Remarkably today was af so 18/25 for me today. Tomorrow won't be!!! Hope everyone is having a great xmas xxx0

Hope everyone had a good christmas.
Mine wasn't very christmassy and I spent it filling in a great big form, worrying about another one but not doing it, and cutting my hair! It was long and tangly and now it's shortbit of a relief really. My gift to myself was some clippers that cut short but not hugely short.
I saw no one and had no pressies (thanks to absence of family), but got a couple of emails from people I hadn't heard from in ages. Sent a couple of letters to friends, ate nut roast on christmas day and spent all christmas afternoon looking at the <whisper>horse racing cards for today - 61 races</whisper>, just for fun no betting. I do that every christmas day.
And I had no alcohol at allI've slept ok but wake early with a busy brain so am tired. My dreams have been weird and horrible, and I've woken in cold sweats in the middle of the night. Maybe that's normal for giving up, and when I had three days without and then a bit to drink it was a false dawn.
It was really difficult and I really really wanted a drink christmas eve, and the day before, but my plan was to go a week without which I haven't done since I was about 14.
I'm not sure whether to carry on like this or have just a bit. I've forgotten what my original idea was. Probably to cut down from drinking every night and the attitude I had that was 'I am a drinker'.
Am I having more fun not drinking at all? I'm not sure. I don't now if I've given it enough time. Plus, I don't want to ruin it by going back to drinking and I'm not sure what would happen if I did.
Sorry, bit philosophical there! I hope you all had a pleasant time and got some relaxing in as well. Life is busy and it's good to have a genuine day off it all
So I'm now on 20/17 AFD please shaggy. Thank you for keeping the scores
ooh, maybe I'll go for the next smiley0 -
Happy Boxing Day! Today is AFD so chalk me up for 19/25 please. I had a few drinks yesterday but to be honest I sort of wished I hadn't. It didn't make any difference to how much I enjoyed the day and if anything I just felt a bit groggy. My sister and husband were right grumpy so and so's and generally quite selfish for the short time they were with us. Quite upset for my mum really.0
