Hi all
Hello Shaggy, I'm declaring at 9/30 today.
No way am I going to drink today, I'm feeling generally good about being AF, in particular the money I am not spending.
I went to WeightWatchers this morning and lost 6lb which is adding to my overall "feeling good"
I did a megashop in M0rris0ns this morning, I just walked past all the alcohol aisles. The shopping was certainly cheaper, no booze and I've sworn off buying (but not off eating) red meat.
It's lovely that the weekend is so much longer without wine:T
Have a good one

Since a few other old timers are back on the scene, I may as well chuck my hat back in the ring too!
Great to see you BHB, GC, Maman, Honeybear, Shaggy and everyone else. I loved this forum back in the days of Jo, Molly's whip etc. It was my lifeline.
Drinking in moderation is still my goal. I'll keep you posted on progress!0 -
Declaring early as out tonight and driving so won't drink so 10/31 for tonight please.
It's great to have so many people posting as good to get support and useful tips. If I get through Dry January I'll go back to SNC Sunday to Thursday from February as I did last year. If I'm honest I'd like to cut back more than that but don't want to make any commitment to that at mo. It's right when people say that it's the glass that's the habit.0 -

That is so true.
Epic fail last night. Too much and a very late night. I have suffered today. The more AF nights I have, the more I resent feeling bad/tired/hungover after a boozey night.
Resenting wine is probably how I will conquer it. I need to build on that resentment.0 -
10/31 AFDs for me tonight, but if I hadn't committed myself to dry January, I'd have immersed myself in a bottle of red after DH decided he hadn't been a prat in a while and didn't want to get out of practice.
We then had a silent battle over the mince pies: I had one of the three remaining, then he sneaked in and ate the last two (pig, hope he hasn't lost any weight this week). What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Evening all. 9/29 this evening please. Not much else to add, hope everyone is doing well.0

7 for tonight. Had an "interesting" Saturday night writing an essay for a course I signed up to in September. It's due on Wednesday and I'm now about 3/4 of the way there, somehow I think an AF Sunday will be on the cards too.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
