Creeps in - slightly embarrassed :o

Sorry peeps - I wasn't knocking the current thread at all on my earlier post - far from it. I was just explaining why it worked for a while for me. Note the - 'for a while' :o

No offence caused I hope ........

It's nice to have like minded people about here and now :)

And Shaggy is doing an amazing job.

No offence felt in this neck of the woods. It's just lovely to see so many people about. I was reading from the start of this thread for a while to pick up tips when I first joined, but I haven't come across 'the whip' yet!

    9/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

Bit disappointed with self as after picking up DH from night out at 10 pm I came home and had a vodka at 10.30pm! I mean who the heck does that! I just couldn't shift the 'it's fri night and u deserve a drink' And then I decided I wasn't gng to declare it on here and it was just a wee teeny weeny drink:o but that would just be fibbing.

Anyway it's done now. Won't be AF sat or sun but defo going to cut down on amount I drink on a sun night as last sun eve I drank loads and had hangover at work on mon!

Tad stormy up here at Mackeroo Towers, hope u all have a nice wkend

Gosh BHB, I didn't think you were criticising at all, far from it!

I accidentally drank too much last night - had a glass with dinner and somehow just carried on tippling. Feel dreadful today but I'm rehydrating and doing all the things you should to get over a hangover. Ugh, stupid really because we were just at home watching the telly!!

Anyway, got to start the weekend

I must get over sensitive when I'm sober :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Really really struggled last night. Was in the alcohol isle of Mr T's walking up and down thinking shall I, shan't I ....
Came away with a bottle of AF Ginger beer from the next door isle in the end. Close shave though especially as it cost more than two bottles of lager  ...... mmm money saving conundrum :rotfl:

  • Evening all, 8/29 for me here please shaggy.
Absolutely no bells at all tonight after last night's red wine, which is comforting to know! Maybe it's because the next door neighbour's builders were in and drilling through my bedroom wall at 6am this morning  So I'm super tired.

6am start of drilling ! Ouch....

I wish I had the energy to start work at 6am

We do that too Mackeroo - you're not alone.

I felt that a few days without a drink and I really had 'earned' a good drink, as I had been a good boy so deserved a treat.
However, I wasn't too successful in moderating so that drink I had 'earned' could often turn into 10 drinks.....then repeat.

Feeling very grateful today. Amazingly, when I wake up without a hangover I feel better about myself and the world. Who would have thought??:rotfl:

I have a pesky debating society that can be quite noisy sometimes.
    Well done for resisting BHB.

Ginger ale/beer is one of my favourite drinks - a bit of sweetness balanced with that sharpness. Lovely.

Good to have you back BHB - you have been missed.

Thanks GC - missed being here if I'm honest - I certainly wouldn't have drunk as much as I have over the last couple of years if I had have been on here. It's a good place to be :) Its also good to have people to share experiences and tips with.

Think its more a case of who hasn't done that mackeroo I certainly have but for me its more getting the mindset right. I don't enjoy it when I have a quick drink late on much rather have a cup of tea or glass of water and on the nights I am having alcohol at least drink early enough to relax and enjoy the drink/s.

    Up to last night 5/20
    please shaggy
