8/25 for me and the first AF weekend in many months.

Went to the pub on Friday night but didn't stop long. I really need to find something else to drink other than Diet Coke as I couldn't finish the second glass.

I usually go to the pub on a Sunday afternoon to watch the live footy with friends but the weather was so crappy that I didn't feel like turning so stopped at home at caught up on some long overdue housework. Doing cleaning rather than watching football in the pub - what has happened to me?!
  • Hi reporting in with7/18 for today. No wine has been consumed in this house this weekend, first for a long time. Had two drinks last night, vodka tonics, I did enjoy them but could just as easily have had none. Looking forward to my first smilie!

Thanks for running the thread Shaggy, and well done everyone. Good luck for the week ahead.

Stay strong Jo & Ellsbel! I'm calling it early, and my next planned drinking day is Friday.

Fruball, thanks for your post, really good way to look at it - well done for not buying your usual wine!

Well done Alex, BHB, stoplurking, doshwaster & fakeplastictwee, that's a lot of AF posts for a Sunday!

    5/14 please Shaggy

11/31 AFDs tonight, and I wasn't even tempted.

DH is making an effort, and although we haven't had the best of days I have to give him credit for trying. His meditations are really paying off: a few years ago this type of event would have lasted at least a month!

The wind nearly blew my mum off her feet today (she weighs less than 7 st). Thankfully, I was standing right behind her so she blew into me. We have to go to a fracture clinic appointment tomorrow morning, and the weather forecast is for gusts of up to 50 mph. I'll have to put ballast in her shoes to anchor her down :-)
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

11/31 for tonight please. Really pleased that both me and OH have both got through an AF weekend.
  • 5 please, Shaggy, ta
  • Hi Everyone

Well I got through another weekend without touching a drop, I almost gave in on Friday night but held strong in the end. It was very difficult though since I have an almost full bottle of cognac in the kitchen.

Another hot spot out of the way until Thursday night so I will report 11/31 please.

    Keep at it people.

I'd not heard of alcohol free spirits before, edwink - seems a strange concept to me, but then I suppose it's no different from AF Beer or Wine!

    Hi Ellsbel

It is mentioned on this thread by "Wanna Bee Free" post number 3621.

I mentioned it to a friend and she asked me if I could post on here for her to find out if anyone had tried it!! It does seem rather expensive so she did not want to waste over £20 on a bottle if it was not any good. It is her husband that she feels is drinking too much as he does like his scotch!! I offered to get some information for her if I could!!

Has anyone else had any experience of purchasing from www.Arkay.com . Apparently they sell Alcohol free larger and wine amongst others!!

Any information would be gratefully received.

I am a non drinker myself but pop on here from time to time as I found this tread some time ago and started reading it. I then became interested in how you were all doing!! Wow you are all such an inspiration and deserve much respect!! Well done!!!

NO more AF days to add this weekend :o. Nothing excessive consumed but still alcohol.

SO I am going to go for the SNC with tonight, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as AF, and maybe Friday too. Anyone want to join me?
    Trying to keep in budget.
