Don't hesitate to let me know if I've made a mistake! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

I'm not entirely sure. I'm pretty keen to go on doing what I'm doing, but I'm afraid that if I stay off the booze permanently I'll become one of those born again teetotallers who lecture everyone else about the evils of drink in a smug, self-satisfied way.Better is good enough.0 -

I'm sure you wouldn't become like that - you have to be a very special person to acquire those character traits0 -
Life has a way of laughing at those of us who take things too seriously, I've noticed, Spiv. After I typed that entry I went outside and finished raking the grass which is a communal garden shared between eight houses. I did the lower half yesterday and it's not that big, but I'm seriously out of condition.
Anyway, there's a shrubbery at the top of the garden, and clearly I was making too much noise raking over the paths because I hadn't noticed we appear to have acquired a resident drunk, who wobbled down the path clutching a half-drunk bottle of Chardonnay with her wig at a very odd angle!Better is good enough.0 -
2/18 for tonight please.
I totally agree with what's been said about how much the support on here helps. I've been posting since Dry Jan and have cut down this year by probably 5/7ths (think that's right). I used to drink almost nightly but now only drink 2 nights out of 7 - hence the calculation that I think I've cut down by.
Thanks to everyone on here for your continued support :T0 -

I certainly haven't sworn off forever. It's more likely than not I will drink again in the future, but I am not going to drink today.
My thoughts (I speak for no-one else) is that I think people are wrong if they think drink is evil. It's a liquid in a bottle or can. However, when it's inside me I behave like a selfish pr1ck and it's effects on ME are evil. But I don't think it causes the devil, it just reveals it inside me....:o
Most people have a perfectly normal, healthy relationship with alcohol, so I for one would never say that drink is evil.
Either way, you're doing fabulously well so big hand to you HB0 -

Thank you. It probably wasn't every night each week but could be some weeks. It's frightening when you stop and think.0 -
Well, I drank tonight. Had to go to the shop after work and bought a bottle of wine, tut tut. Mum did ask me why, and my excuse was I feel ill and need something to cheer me up, haha.
Of course we shared it and it feels like Ive had nothing, but... Part of me feels bad, but as long as it's not every night, I'm cutting down slowly.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
