The Giving Up/ Cutting Down alcohol support thread - number 13

That's what DH just said. He'd love a cold beer watching footy this afternoon but he won't.
My team were rubbish yesterday, a friend who knows I'm doing the dryathlon texting me suggesting I take up glue sniffing
It is hard as alcohol is such a huge part of the matchday experience for me, especially if I'm there. It sounds pathetic but I just don't have it in the house at the moment, no point in putting temptation in my own way. There's some Jack Daniels in the cupboard but I know I would never begin drinking on that so it's safe, if that makes sense?0 -
Checking in early with 19/31 please Shaggy0

Afternoon :hello:
2 more AFDs.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Please excuse me barging in by the way but I was drawn to this thread as avoiding alcohol is still something I find very hard.

Went for a meal for a friends birthday and decided that I would drink (paid the £20 fine for Dryathlon!)

True that alcohol is a huge part of football - whether there or at the pub/home. I'm not a fan but DH is.
We've actually got alcohol in the house (well in the garage) and haven't really been tempted. I just have a drink in a wine glass to fool myself I'm drinking.
I had thought it'd be more difficult but I'm doing it as much to show my kids that we can do it - to set a good example I suppose. They are 20 and 17.0 -
19/31 please Shaggy0
