20/31 please Shaggy
Had the weirdest dream last night. I dreamed my loft flooded, so my bathroom ceiling caved in, there were loads of woollen mice like Christmas decorations hanging down and Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks was there, the 'real' one, not the cartoon, but he was smaller and baring his teeth, so I threw this solar powered build your own robot kit Top Boy's had forever unopened in a box in his room and not touched at Alvin, then I felt sick so I went to the sink and threw up pieces of a green torch I'd never seen before except in a dream a few days ago.
I've read weird dreams are a side effect of going cold turkey but I'd have hoped it would be out of my system by now!!!0 -
Congratulations to everyone doing Dryathlon, I'm full of admiration for you.:T:A
I've struggled this month. I didn't really start until 6th January and I can't believe how many social things I've got on. I thought January was meant to be a quiet, dead time.
Well at least tonight's going to be AF.
7 AFDs please Shaggy.
We did it as my DS 20 bet us we couldn't go a month. I admit I was a bit concerned whether we could do it or not
Our drinking had got a bit out of control really - drinking most nights, not loads but staying up later even on school nights.
We've found Dryathlon easier than we thought. I've taken loads of tips and advice from this thread so thanks guys :T
I'm not counting our chickens but only one more weekend to go and the end is in sight. Would like to hear what others are doing in February. My aim is to stick to recommended units per week.0 -
Oh and forgot 20/31 please Shaggy.0

20/31 AFDs, with no temptation today.
Still feel grumpy though. I made a doctors appointment (annual diabetes check-up) today, and they text my DH to confirm it. I am going to complain tomorrow, as that's a data protection breach - I confirmed it with the OIS. What if I didn't want DH to know I was going to the doctors? They said they only had DH's mobile number... and??? that doesn't mean they can use it for me, does it??? Told you I was grumpy. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
That's what I keep thinking but not sure how to balance AF and non AF days in Feb yet. Thinking definitely SNC and then drinking if I'm off at the weekend. If I'm working at the weekend aiming for AF week ie no drinking during the week whatever I'm working.
How are the rest of you who are doing Dryathlon planning February?
That's a good question. I haven't yet decided.
The whole point of this month wasn't to stop drinking indefinitely but to set myself a challenge (and raise some money!). To be honest, it's been a lot easier than I ever imagined and I feel a lot better for it so it has made me think that cutting back long term might be a good idea too.
Maybe having one whole AF week per month would be do-able in the long term.0 -
Just checking in tonight with AF night #15
I have a funny feeling i'm going to let myself down on 30th Jan as I have a meal out planned with work friends as one of the girls is leaving the office - but I will see how things go and see how I feel nearer the time.
debjay, I am also debating what to do for Feb, I think I might just plan to drink on special occasions - i.e 15th feb I'm out for valentines meal with H2B so that will be my next 'event' but other than that I have no other plans so hoping I have the will power to not drink unless there's an occasion to!
Good Luck everyone!!GC- June £0/£150

I've got a test this Friday with a work colleague's leaving do! My plan is to drive and then there's no temptation. I'm not going to give in at this late stage in the month.
My plan for Feb is to only drink at weekends - Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday lunchtime but only if not working. I'm definitely up for SNC every week and that means Sunday night to Thursday night inclusive and, if working, will include Friday and Saturday night.0 -
Another 1 more for me please Shaggy.
GreyCat, Please can you recommend the unit calculator app please? I like the sound of that! Thanks.Live for the moment and plan for the future0
