    10 please, Shaggy, thanks

Poor Satchmo - you have been through so many changes recently, with your move up north, and looking after your Mum. Look after yourself. Mr Pricey can be a complete pain at times too, and certainly drives me to drink (last night for example). I hope things get better for you and as Maman says, it will all take time to sort things out for the best - this is another major decision for you all.

So sorry for your loss stu. I'm sure you're right that it's easier to offload on here (you too satchmo). Hugs to you both.:A

Oh Stupot, I'm so sorry for your loss, hugs for you. If you join your DH in the gin, try just a tiny measure of gin and lots of tonic? An old bartender scam was to dip your finger into the gin and run it round the rim of the glass.

Thanks everyone for your support. DH said tonight that I shouldn't start to look for a care home for at least 2 weeks and to reassess once the antidepressants start to take effect: his depression makes him prone to catastrophising/"all or nothing" thinking. It's good that he has voiced this, as it means his depression isn't as black as past episodes.

    9/20 AFDs for me.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

That sounds much more positive, Satchmo. While things are relatively calm in your household it might be an idea to find out if there are any places locally that would be suitable for your mother. Once you know what the options are, you wouldn't feel so helpless if there is another meltdown.

I'm sorry I forgot to pass on my condolences on your loss, StuPotStu.

I'm now feeling a bit impatient for my next Smiley!

    Hi

I know it's a bit late in the month but can I join this months challenge please?

I don't want to drink for the rest of the month. I didn't drink yesterday so I'm going to include that.

Can you put me down for 13

    So, so far 1-13

I hope I have done this right but let me know if there's any problems.

    Thanks

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I am determinedly and consciously drinking tonight.

DH is in deep depression, which means he verbally attacks me. Now that mum is living with us, he is now verbally attacking the fact that she is here and whitters all the time, Says he resents her being here, and feels manipulated into having her here. Says he feels he's being used and that I'm taking him for a mug,

    Hah,

Well, no, that's not how I feel, I am in tears and feel like a bl00dy slave. I cook, clean, tidy, I'm unpacking boxes and rearranging joint possessions in order to make a home. I've just given up a part time job because it wasn't paying more than benefits. But DH is giving me grief about not producing an income. Says I'm "sponging off him"??? Well, a f***ng cook/bottlewasher/launderer would cost him more than I do.

I've had enough. I want out of this mess.

Oh Satch I was really sad to read your post. Hope things get better soon.

My lovely, sweet, kind Mother In Law died this morning after a short and vicious battle against an unexpected sickness. She faced it bravely with grace, poise and dignity. She was an old school Lady.

Sorry to read that too. Sorry for your loss.:(
