It sounds as though you are having a tough time, Satchmo, caught between two people who need you at the same time. Have a (((hug))), and I hope things look a little better in the morning, after a couple of paracetemol.

    18/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

    Feeling for you satchmo.:A
Hope things look a little brighter after a night's sleep. What about going out for a run in the fresh air to get away from it for a while?
  • Happy Sunday everyone!

Logging in for 18/31 please Shaggy.

Its been a busy weekend so far, although I had a late night on Friday it was AF so was up bright as a button yesterday to watch DS play football and score the winning goal :j

Last night DH and I watched the first 3 episodes of Peaky Blinders Series 1. How did I miss that first time round on the BBC? Absolutely brilliant.

Thanks Maman, I took your advice and went for a run, had a rest at the shore and watched some sand-yachting and kite-surfing (perfect conditions for those, as it's very blowy here). Got a bit lost on the return run, which isn't unusual for me!

Things aren't great, but at least my sister came to take mum out for the day (at my request). I have admitted to myself that having mum living with us isn't going to be a viable solution, so I have to tell mum/my siblings and start looking for a nice care home.

Feel I'm failing on all fronts atm.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

I'm glad you enjoyed your run. Taking a bit of time out for yourself is so important and I think the exercise and the fresh air helps too.

You really aren't failing, you're dealing with the situation along with your siblings. It just can't be sorted overnight that's all.

    Cut yourself some slack.:A

Sending you hugs Satchmo1. Keep up with the running, whilst you're running you are temporarily free at least. It's a shame your husband isn't a bit more supportive.

Still, you have everyone here!! :-)

    Hello All,

Calling in 5 AF for tonight.

My lovely, sweet, kind Mother In Law died this morning after a short and vicious battle against an unexpected sickness. She faced it bravely with grace, poise and dignity. She was an old school Lady.

The next few months will be really tough and I - at least - must refrain from mindless drinking as OH will rely heavily on me but drink heavily too. It will be all too easy for me to join him in his sorrow with stiff gins and free pouring wine and through that he will end up drinking more.

Feeling lost and numb but somehow resolute! Somehow seems a whole lot easier to offload onto here.

    Thanks for listening.

Much healthier to offload here, Satchmo and StupotStu. If we can help support you through a tough time and you don't dive into a wine bottle (or gin, my personal favourite), then that's all to the good.
    Better is good enough.
