Welcome to Chardonnay, well done to Guiness cat on hitting your target, welcome back to slowdown and everyone else.
I have clocked up two more so I'm up to 14/14 tonight and a target of 14 in June please Shaggy. Don't worry about STS - as long as it's not a gain! Well done on your booze free total - very impressive! Thank you so much for scoring and giving us all the lovely pictures and everything!!

I didn't plan and count very well so tonight has been challenging as I was with friends taking the p*ss but I had too many sod it nights earlier on in the month.

Finishing the month on a very shameful 10/14

This month I am going to aim to have fewer drinks on drinking days and more AF days so total consumption is considerably less. If I cannot manage it then I think the time has come to get some help

Well done to all those who managed or beat their targets for May :T and good luck to everyone for June!

    20 please, Shaggy, ta

Managed my target, just! I was so determined to do it this month that I was AF last night and I think it is not too early to say tonight too.

    20 for June, please

Well, I am not sure of my total for May but the last few days have been totally out of order and I have drunk far too much. It's been a long holiday weekend here (thurs and friday off for ascension) so DH and I kind of went for it a bit! It as very nice in a way to just think 'sod it' and have a bit of a drink and a laugh, but I am tired tonight!

So, for June my target is 21 days but I'm going to kick start that by keeping off the booze until Friday, when I have a big party to go to.

DH and I haven't told the kids about his resignation yet as they are in the idle of exams. When they've finished we'll tell them and reassure them that we aren't going to starve or get kicked out of the house but that we will need to pull together and cut back to make our savings and the remaining wages go as far as possible.
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • Good luck Gien. Sounds as though you are being really pragmatic and I like the "sod it" approach. Has to be good from time to time.
I promised to check in this weekend as I have had 6/7 AF days. The one lapse was not major- just felt disproportionately rubbish about it.
Would like to aim for 26/31 AF days in June which gives me one day of lapse per week. Hope not to need it.

    Tenth Anniversary
Well yesterday didn't go tooooo badly I guess. No, I didn't stick to 3 drinks, but had 4 (2 glasses of Prosecco and 2 G&Ts). I also had a couple of glasses of Lemonade in between, much to everyone else's surprise! :D

I love Prosecco and did enjoy it but after the second glass started to get a bit of a headache and did actually think of having a coffee. I could have stopped then really and should have. It was an afternoon party and the drink was really flowing but I finished off with two glasses of water. By this time (8ish) I started to feel quite flat and tired and ready to go home as the booze started to wear off. I've noticed that I feel quite guilty when I drink now too, unless I drink so much that I just don't care any more :o That doesn't happen much these days though I must say, I am definitely improving.

Have felt quite dehydrated and hungover today - blotchy skin and baggy eyes - lovely! :( Still debating whether I would be better off stopping drinking alcohol entirely, but I'll keep reading the book (he tells you to carry on drinking normally throughout) and see how I feel afterwards.

I will call an early 1/19 AFDs please Shaggy! We went to the pub for lunch today for dad's birthday, but I just had a fizzy water - that's progress in itself! Pub used to = alcohol and I would never have dreamed of having a soft drink! :)
