    Evening all,

I've still not got in the habit of posting everyday!!! Sorry.

Anyway, I have no where else to say this or people to whom I can talk at the moment but my husband came home tonight and said that he was going to have to resign on Monday!

He's been having a really bad time at work for the last 6-12 months and today it all came out in a row with is boss (and owner of the company). So, he thinks that he either has to resign or he will be sacked.

I am just taking it all in right now, and we will be OK, but I cannot talk to anyone else - I have a good friendship group but until DH has made the break I want to keep it quiet.

Sorry, just needed to blurt it out and this is the only place online that I feel I have a long term presence in.

Oh, and tonight has not been AF!
    Trying to keep in budget.

Have a big hug gien. Take care of yourself and keep us posted. It's often easier to talk to virtual friends.

As the World Cup is starting next month and I go on holiday for ten days, I will set a modest target of 20/30 AFDs in June :)

Last night wasn't AF so I'm not going to meet my target this month. Having said that when I do drink it's loads less than last year (before Dry January gave me the initial push). I'm going to be more realistic in June and set a target of 21 please.

Yesterday I celebrated 11 years of sobriety.

No way could I go back to trying to control my drinking,if I wasn't drinking I was thinking about it.When to drink, where to buy it,how much to buy.If anyone on this forum is doing any of these things, you are in deep trouble. My Alcoholism took years to progress,it did it slowly but relentlessly and at the end it accelerated at an alarming rate.

Unfortunately few Alcoholics put the drink down before they hit rock bottom.

I used to post on this thread a lot a few years ago,now I do it rarely, simply because alcohol plays no part i my life these days.

I wish everyone well in chieving your targets.
    Sobriety delivers everything Alcohol promised.

Alcohol free since May 23rd 2003.:D
  • Thanks to everyone and such great advice. Abstinence it is as I can't trust myself .i will try this for one week and check in next Saturday to update.
Good luck Gien. Fingers crossed bringing things to a head may well be the best thing to happen :) keep posting.
