Thank you all for your kind wishes. So far It's been a week that hasn't stopped. I think I am up to 8 AF days
The problem for me (like a lot of us) is that I have no idea when to call it a day. I know when I'm not drinking, but in the pub I struggle. So I think I drank far too much, spent 7 hours with someone very nice but can't remember all of it and was the worst version of myself where I should have been the best.
Then did the classic coming home very late and sleeping in the living room for no reason at all. Very cosy bed in bedroom but the drunk me likes the living room carpet.
Will see what happens next on the dating front. It's billed as being fun and exciting but it's stressful and very difficult.
Big thank you again to everyone. xxx2017- 5 credit cards plus loan

Thanks for all the welcome backs, can I report 2/17 AFD's please shaggy (that's the most in a long time)Wanna_Bee_Free wrote: »2/14 for me please Shaggy. Sorry to hear it's been a tough couple of years and welcome back Macpep1!
I've been itchy and irritable this evening. I had a bad night's sleep and somehow feel cheated that I didn't sleep like a baby even though it was my first AFD in ages. Totally ridiculous.
I think being honest on here is one of the few places I can 'talk' about booze and posting here helps me think about drinking. Also reading everyone else's thoughts makes me feel like we are in it together and can learn from others too.
If I have not have an AFD in a while it usually takes me a good few days before sleep settles, Monday it was 2:32am before I nodded off then it was a restless sleep, last night I fell asleep 9:40pm, again restless but feel better today. That's what this forum is about, it was a great help to me before & will be again.Poor_Single_lady wrote: »Thank you all for your kind wishes. So far It's been a week that hasn't stopped. I am the same I get greedy with it but it hit home when my hubby told me my DD doesn't like to be around me when I am drinking so I kinda know when to stop now. I am also one for not remembering things & I fall asleep on the couch even though I have a great comfy bed. Good luck on your journey.:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

By the sound of it, PSL, he was probably quite drunk too though so may be feeling much the same as you? ... I do think seven hours is a very long time to spend with someone you're unfamiliar with - I'd really struggle with that. Will see what happens next on the dating front. My two bobs' worth, I don't reckon it's fun and exciting, unless you're lucky. It's just stressful!0 -
Welcome back, Macpep! It sounds as though you've had a really rotten couple of years. (((Hugs)))
PSL I think you have to be a certain kind of person to find the early days of dating someone new fun. It also helps if you're young and you think the world has endless possibilities which I found got a lot more difficult as I got older. Luckily for me I met my OH when I was 37 after I had stopped looking altogether, which I was told is always the way, but being told that that didn't help in my early 30s. 8 AF days by the 12th is asbsolutely excellent, btw.
12/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Ok this is what's going round in my head right now.
Saturday I had half a bottle of wine
Monday I had 1 glass of wine.
I'm on holiday this week the weather is sunny. I think I've done quite well. I'm toying with buying a bottle to open when I get home at 7.30, am driving before then. But if I'm going to make target I really need to not drink midweek esp with Easter coming. I won't drink tomorrow as I'm looking after a friends kids. So I'll hv to wait until Friday.
Sounds crazy but I'll feel guilty if I indulged but deprived if I don't.
The cuppa tea quote still rotates in my head too.
I'm not looking for answers just thought I'd voice my headLive for the moment and plan for the future0 -

Apologies for my absence, I've been in the wars again.
I was taking my son to Great Ormond Street Hospital in late March and fell over in the street injuring my arms.
I couldn't go to A&E until he was in theatre so had to hang on for about 8 hours.
I eventually got to A&E at UCH and was found to have a fractured right wrist and left elbow.
I haven't checked back yet but will do and catch up.
I closed March on 23/25 and am aiming for 28/30 for April.
I'm currently on 10/28.
Bye for now

9/23 for me for yesterday
Thank you everyone for thoughts and support. The next 4 days are hard to cut down as this would be the time when everyone wants to get together and do pub.
Might see the boy later, but trying to be relaxed about it. Glad it's not just me that finds dating non-fun.
PS I love that people can come back and join and it's so nice to see everyone posting when they can. grateful to be on board. Thank you.2017- 5 credit cards plus loan
