5/15 for yesterday. We were away over the weekend but drank sensibly. It's interesting we had a bottle of wine with dinner Saturday night and it was plenty between 2 of us. At home I find it harder to resist a drink before, then wine and too often extra nibbles at the end of the meal too. And then I wonder why I am overweight! Still proud of myself as last night I did struggle, glad I didn't see anyone drinking on TV before dinner. I'm ok once I have eaten, think it's the automatic wine and food or wine before dinner I struggle with most.

Congrats to all who have reached or exceeded their targets too

Huge congratulations for everyone reaching their targets, especially Cuppa Tea, Poor Single Lady, Debjay and Lovesale! Particularly noticable this month because the first three were consecutive posts.

I found your post interesting, MaggieM. For a long time I found drinking in moderation very do-able, and the only tweak it took was not to drink before I started eating. If I poured a glass of wine while cooking the meal I found I always ended up drinking way, way more than I intended. Lethal.

    28/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.
  • Well done to those reaching their targets. I drank in moderation last night, so will miss target now. It's a shame to miss it by one day, however I'm not going to beat myself up. The point of me posting here and having a target is to moderate my drinking, and I have had FAR MORE AF days than I would have before. And the alcohol I've had on drinking days has been very much in moderation.

My bank balance is also looking far more healthy for it. I haven't bought a bottle of wine for home at all this month. It's a very long time since I've been able to say that!

One thing I'm noticing now I'm cutting down is how tired it makes me feel when I drink. I hate to think of the battering I've given my body and mind during my 20s when I drank constantly.

I can identify with pre-dinner drinking. What's that saying about 'I cook with wine.....'. That was written for me.

You're right not to beat yourself up over one day fpt. AFDs aren't the only way of cutting down just an easy way of accounting for it. It doesn't stop me feeling cross with myself when I have a single glass though. What a waste.;)

    No drinking for me today.

    12 AFDs please Shaggy.
