  • I agree wholeheartedly HB but then I'm at my parents house and it's hard!!

If you've seen the film -"my big fat Greek wedding" -well there are a lot of similarities to my family. We are British but the noise volume is similar but I am more of a introvert bookworm and struggle with the noise eruption. I love my family but in small doses and getting back to my peaceful flat feels so good that I feel so guilty for feeling like that. But today I weathered the storm chaos drink free.

I think that makes me 21/22and tommorow will hit target. Planned drink on Tuesday with close friend (not too many-she's a very light drinker. She said it all changed after having 2 babies in 2 years, it's just not on the radar) then wed-fri AF making 25.

Did my usual drinking on Friday , Saturday and Sunday , but no totally greedy cow as in the past, and no big hangover from either night ,
Today I should reach target, but I can't declare early as I feel it would tempt fate !
So hopefully I will check in later with good news :A
:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:

First of my bonus days today. I'm pleased with this having had a week's holiday in March plus various social occasions.

I was wondering when and why it became the norm to offer a glass of wine rather than a cup of tea to visitors. Definitely is the case in most of my social circle. In fact my one friend, who takes me to tea rooms and garden centres, I consider rather quaint and old fashioned.

I think it may be an offshoot of increased foreign travel but unlike, for example the French, we don't stop at a small glass.:(

I don't know, Maman, but I know it's a triumph for the booze industry. Listening to them talking about it though sounds very much like the tobacco industry in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, early 2000s. They won't stop saying it's up to people to moderate while they normalise overconsumption and blame it on the people who drink, as if they had nothing to do with it. If everyone drank in moderation imagine what that would do to their profitability!

    Good going, FPT.

    27/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
