Wow Karen. Thats really exciting and brave. Im not sure if project managing a house will be less stressful but at least you won't hv work drinks tempting you as much.
Good for you for following yr dreams.
8/20 for me please.
Looking at the calendar i might make 17 this month. Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -
14/26 for me for yesterday. Proud of self as got asked to go to a work drinks thing last minute (630) last night. I'd had an awful day of stress with house purchase as issues all over the chip shop, and ordinarily I'd have thought f*ck it, and gone and drank but instead politely declined, came home, had a bath and a cuppa. So glad.I want to be a writer0

Just handed my notice in at work today. :j
I don't have another job to go to, as I have decided with my OH that I am going to build a house! Not with my own hands but project manage it.
It's been a long hard decision, but my being away with work all the time means we can't get on with the house and although we got the planning permission last August, we haven't really progressed things.
All a bit scary for me, have been in full time work for the last 32 years without a single break. I really feel the support and comradeship on this forum has helped a great deal. So thanks to everyone for being here.
That's amazing news Green Karen! I quit my very stressful (hair falling out, IBS, anxiety attacks, panic attacks, depression, acid reflux) job at start of last year with nothing to go to. Took 3.5 months off. Now back in a job but waaaaay less stress and only 4 days a week. Though sometimes I miss the big salary, apart from that I can honestly say so glad I left! Good luck with the house - so exciting! xI want to be a writer0 -
Exciting times for you Karen. Brave decision, but I'm sure you won't regret it.
I'm up to 12/TF despite lots of stress. Just DH's operation tomorrow and half term this coming week to get through then...0 -
Wow Karen ,, and just think every time you have an AF day ,, it's another new roof tile or box of screws for the new house !! I'm sure we will all love hearing your progress and story of the build !
