Well sadly not AF yesterday ,, no valentines excuse either,, just had some wine (2 glasses ) left over from Sunday ,, rare as I always Finnish an open bottle ! And a,so rare that once I'd had the 2 glasses didn't grab another bottle , as I normally would .
So not AF but better than I used to be ,,,,!

While clocking up AF days is a very useful tool, spreading a bottle over two days (rather than a bottle one day and AF the next) is still cutting down. Well done on not opening another bottle (on either night).:)

12/26 for yesterday! No booze now for 12 days. Not sure I feel any better for it physically but at least I know it must be doing me good

It's good for your finances :money: and for proving to yourself that you can do it!:T

    No drinking here today.

    8 AFDs please Shaggy.
  • Have a great holiday HB.
14 AF days for me, no Valentines temptations as away with work.

Lulubelle - I am same as you, 14 days without a drink but don't feel any better. In fact I am sleeping like never before and I think 10 hours a night wouldn't be enough at the moment! But I am waking without feeling exhausted so that's good.

Also to all those that have commented on expecting weight loss, I have been eating no more since not drinking, in fact less as OH is on a health campaign and there are no goodies about. But I haven't lost any weight either. And I have been exercising a little this year for the first time in about 20 years! I haven't been trying to lose weight, but that's not the point ;)
But I do feel the benefit of the additional time as I am using the evenings to better effect. And I genuinely feel happier and healthier in myself.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    12/21 AFDs today :-)
  • Have a lovely holiday HB!

I've come on with no more AFDs to report. S*d it days and happy days and every excuse in between. In spite of the stoppered bottle of wine in the fridge I am coming on here to declare I am resolved to have another AFD today and that will be 3/14 including today.\
Well done to all those happy with their month so far. Sympathy and strength to everyone else.

I had two glasses of wine last night, from a bottle I opened last Friday evening, (the one I was proud that I didn't finish), so I wasn't AF yesterday.
I'm noticing that 2 glasses is making me feel exhausted the next day, when before dry January a couple of glasses was the norm and I didn't feel so bad. I'm not sure whether this is because my tolerance has dropped, or that I was just used to being permanently tired!

My energy levels haven't been great recently, both with and without booze. The last two weeks of dry January I was sleeping for 9-10 hours and feeling like I hadn't slept. I suppose I would have to do a much longer stint of being AF to fully determine whether alcohol is a factor or not, but I suspect there may be something else underlying.

I absolutely won't be drinking tonight, so it's first smiley time for me, 7/15 please Shaggy.

Didn't post yesterday for some reason :p13/24 for tonight please.
  • 11/21 please

Should be 12 tommorow, I have some weekend plans but using this group as motivation to keep sensible. And today went to pub and had Diet Coke. Unheard of but I had study plans this evening and wanted to keep a clear head.

I think without all the wonderful people who post here I wouldn't feel that this was possible. Big thank you to everybody and much appreciation to everyone.
