I upgraded to Windows 8 reluctantly and found I loved it.

May I ask if your friends have stopped commenting on your AFness now? (really need a nosey smiley just for me;)).
I'm still occasionally surprised by someone commenting on my AFness, but it's never been an issue. I had quite a long chat with someone about it last night who didn't know much about why I stopped drinking and she wanted to know what it was like, so I told her. Early on a couple of people who were old enough to know better told me I didn't have a problem with booze but as it wasn't something I felt the need to justify it sort of got left at that. Both sets of neighbours we socialize with get lovely B***s B**e in specially for me which is unbelievably kind of them. (Fortunately the C0-0p at the bottom of the road sells chilled BB so that makes life very straightforward.)
I've never been a fan of people who make intrusive personal comments, so I suppose I kind of shut down conversations I don't feel the need to have, simply because I'm so suprised by being asked rude or impertinent questions. There have been one or two people, when I've been introduced to them, total strangers, who said something that indicated they feel threatened in some way by being with someone who doesn't drink at all but that says a lot about them and nothing about my not drinking. They're not the kind of people who interest me, so that's the end of the interaction.
I'm still surprised that even when I was mixing Pimms for visitors last week that I wasn't tempted to have a sneaky swig, but I love living AF so much I just didn't entertain the idea of going back to drinking for even a nano-second. I think the fact that I'm pretty matter of fact about it dispenses with the need to discuss it, basically.Better is good enough.0 -

I had to use an Apple computer at one job I had over 25 years ago (perils of temping long term) and boy did I hate it! Love my tattered, battered ipod and am just about to be gifted OH's old iphone. Can't wait - I'm still using a Nokia 3310!
Slightly concerned we haven't heard from Piggles and ManPants for a few days, and still really missing Satchmo.
25/31 please for July and 31 for August.Better is good enough.0 -

It's great that you can deal with it like that. I know many people worry when giving up or cutting down that they'll lose 'friends' or feel excluded from their social circle if they don't drink. I know I've only cut down but friends have raised eyebrows occasionally. Generally my AF days are at home so only DH knows about them otherwise I've had a reason (like driving) so once the first bottle of fizzy water is ordered no one asks again.
I did consider having a glass with the roast beef yesterday evening but I didn't really want one so I didn't bother. I am feeling better but the taste for wine hasn't come back. No plans to drink today so I'm calling early.
24 AFDs please Shaggy.
I'll have my usual for August please. If I can maintain that as my floor target I'm happy.0 -
Good morning everyone,
1 AFD please for last night Shaggy. Please may I go TF in August, as I'm away a lot.
Congrats on 2 years AF HB!
Maman - What have you spent your SW syns on, if not wine?
Have a good Monday. Arkers x0
