Been missing for a few days. As expected, lots of visitors and outings this month = very few AFDs. I'm only on 6-16
Haven't been too bad quantity wise, and should have been AF last night but wasn't, warm weather = good excuse for a beer in the garden, then OH opened a bottle of red. Ah well.
Manpants, sorry you are struggling a bit at the moment, I hope your meeting goes well today, and there's still 12 days left. Are you up for trying to bag a few more of those as AFDs? I'm going to ignore the cold beers today and tomorrow and stay away from wine so may get at least 2 more this week. Thing is I like B€cks blue so why didn't I get some in when this lovely weather was forecast? Hmmm.
Good luck for the rest of the month and thanks for all the updates Shaggy.MFIT -T5 #420 -
Have taken my last tablet that will make me projectile vomit if I mix alcohol with it so there is no chance of waivering tonight. I'd already started plotting & planning a few stiff gins on the terrace which would have led onto god knows what.
I'm sitting here with my bottom lip quivering. I can't believe i'm doing so badly. I know all the answers for not drinking then do. Wish I had 1000 more of these tablets.
Well, the really, really good news is that you do know what stops you drinking - taking the tablets that make you vomit. I have no idea what they are but I think a sneeky trip to the GP to ask what help is available is the answer because there is help available if you ask for it.
I'm never sure of whether anyone is addicited to alcohol or it's just a really bad habit. Addiction is one thing, habit is another and people who think they have a problem with alcohol might have to tackle both things at the same time, and that's really, really tough. If will-power alone isn't enough, then it's time to ask for some support because we know you're serious about wanting to stop. Good luck with it - you're a marvellous support to loads of people on here and it's time for you to be on the receiving end of some, too.
20/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -

I've never worked that one out either.:)
Sorry to hear you're struggling MP. Any idea of triggers? Hope today's meeting goes well.
Still not fancying a drink here. I'm planning one on Friday assuming I feel like it as I'm going out for lunch. It'll make a change to go somewhere other than the surgery or the supermarket!
19 AFDs please Shaggy.0 -

Had a glass of red wine with an impromptu BBQ last night, suggested and cooked (!) by DH and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I hadn't planned to drink yesterday, but the weather was so glorious, and DH was [STRIKE]cremating[/STRIKE] cooking, so...
Just the one glass and I made sure the fan was on when I went to bed to help with the heat (and potential sweats due to alcohol) so didn't feel too bad when the small people woke me up at 6am this morning! Why is it that during the holidays, children get up sooo early, but come a school day, they need a rocket in the mornings?
ManPants, don't be too hard on yourself. I had quite a few epic fails in the first few months of trying to cut down. It happens and yes, a day was lost to a hangover, but once you work out why it happens, you'll be better armed to combat it. One of my triggers was feeling lonely and alcohol temporarily made me feel warm and fuzzy. Then it made me sick and dizzy, but I'd conveniently forget that until the massive hangover the following day...and at least you don't have small children hanging off you, while you are hanging...0 -
