Good morning everyone,
11 AFD please Shaggy.
Hope you have a lovely holiday, I trust you'll have a lovely break.
Had an uncomfortable encounter at the gym earlier. A woman who I had a falling with a year or so ago was amongst a group of other people I know. It was very awkward, and I don't want it to rock my boat or I will reach for the bottle. I can't bring myself to make friends with this person again, and I have lost a lot of friends/acquaintances over the whole situation. I know I need to get over it and move on, but I find this difficult. I can't be two faced either, I find in my experience, that woman in particular are very adept at this and I just can't see through this carp!
I'm on my lonesome again this evening so I think I'll try and have an early night, and try and read a light hearted book.
MP - A stately home sounds fantastic, you lucky thing.
Have a good Friday and lovely weekend0 -

Morning all! Reporting in this morning to say last night I had a small glass of red wine (which wasn't very nice, so a waste, and I wish I had just chucked it out) and four shots of aquavit. This morning not quite clear-headed, a bit slow, but not hungover. I find measuring as I go really helps with keeping some sort of a handle on it. It was still probably too much though.
There is some red wine left in the bottle but it is going in the freezer.0 -
Off to google aquavit......
And enlightened! I've never seen this before though, must have had my head in the clouds.Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -
CuppaTea, acquavit, or akvavit, is otherwise known as schnapps - as far as I know they are the same thing? ... But I think a lot of the varieties of schnapps you get in the UK are pretty horrible (peach schnapps and the like). The proper northern Europe (ie Scandinavian or German) versions are lovely. It's strong though, so I have to watch it.
I hope no one minds my posting what I drink on my non-AFDs? ... It's in the interests of accountability - if I know I'm going to tell you good people what I've drunk, I'm more restrained than I otherwise would be. It's also in the interests of noting if it goes up or down over time. Since I started posting on this thread it has noticeably dropped. Which is obviously good!0
