Afternoon/evening all, not sure what the official time frame is for evening especially on a glorious sunny day. Sat on our terrace drinking afternoon blend of Earl Grey tea so it must be afternoon and happy to report 11/20 AF days in the bag.
Thank you Shaggy for keeping score and well done to everybody wherever you are on your journey.

    Morning All

    Feels like I'm on a roll :-) 9/31 AF.

However, I know I am but one moment away from chaos and turmoil if I weaken and even have one glass of anything. Prosecco, champagne and wine being the accelerators to craziness.

Glad you all enjoyed my wedding antics. I could regale you with endless other stories spanning 20 years. Incidents that can still make me blush now. Apologies to anyone in Cape Verde circa 2008 who witnessed me strip off completely in the bar, push two comfortable chairs together to make a bed and have a sleep. There was quite a frost from OH the next day when I got returned to our room with my pants (my man pants!!) in my pocket and no explantation given as to what I had done. Obviously I had no idea at all. Some 3 days later a lady walked up to us at the pool saying how sweet i had looked in my home made bed. At this point the stripping off & making a bed became such a relief as I thought I may have cheated. There seemed to be no other explanation as to why I came home with my pants in my pocket. I have never felt so relieved to be told I'd stripped off naked in a bar!

So my friends. I am off to a stately home for the weekend where I shall be "dry" whilst everyone else isn't. I've asked the Angels to help me. God knows its not like I don't need the extra help.

    Have a nice weekend.

    Hugs

I have to stay Debjay and Barny you are both racking up some impressive numbers, albeit very quietly. Good on you.

Next day as I pieced the night together, I was massively ashamed having spanked the Brides' Mothers bottom in celebration of her undergarment choice, touched up the best man (straight) and told another guest I loved her hooker shoes:eek:. The couple are still talking to me although I suspect there won't be a christening invitation.

There is, of course, a slightly different way of looking at the jollyjapes. You assaulted the bride's mother and best man, and then insulted a female guest.

Manpants, I think you sound like a man who loves life and gets carried away when you've had a few. I love your interpretation of what you did and it does sound like fun, but thinking about my own over-the-top behaviour when I'd had too much has made me realise that I'd be the person I went out of my way to avoid at parties. And I'd be the person who, when planning guest lists, I didn't invite, or, if I had to, as at my recent birthday party, actually dreaded what would probably happen later in the evening. (It didn't, but just thinking it would caused me a lot of tension and made me wonder if I do, actually, like the person concerned and I'd been thinking of him as a bestie for over 20 years.)

There's a tendency to avoid recognising actual behaviour when booze is involved and call it 'just a bit of fun.' I'm pi$$ing on your parade here and I'm fully aware of how judgemental I sound, but as long as I thought about my drunken behaviour as excusable, I carried on doing it. The day I recognised just how harmful and destructive it was, the appeal went right out of the window.

Good luck with the sober thing this weekend. I know how hard it is and I know how much you want to do this.

7/15 for me please Shaggy :) and also a treat-free day.

Yesterday had two G&T's (single shot) and about 300ml or so of red wine - close to half the bottle. Probably too much. Not hungover today though I must say, quite clear-headed.

ManPants, not wishing to encourage you but as a wedding guest one thing you're clearly not is dull :p Have to agree with Dizzy though, I'm guessing the reality probably isn't quite so amusing, sadly! I still cringe inwardly over some of the things I did when I was drunk more than 20 years ago.

Well done on the treat free day, and I wish I could say the same. And yeah, I'm still cringing too, but the further away I get from it, the easier I find it is to be proud of what I've achieved and stay strong when the inevitable temptation occurs.

    13/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

Morning all! What a beautiful day, at least where I am. I would normally take Friday as an AFD but because I'm off work this week have decided to make a long weekend of it, though with the intention of keeping it low. If that turns out to be a bad idea I will know not to do it again!

Honey Bear, thanks - the treat free days are actually quite easy when I am at home as I don't either get bored or stressed - it's at work that I struggle slightly.

    Hi :hello:

    1 more AFD for yesterday.

I'm off on holiday tomorrow until Sunday 29th - so keep shouting out your AFDs and I will pick them all up on the 30th. Shout out your June targets too.

Fully intending to have AFDs and ALDs on my holidays.

    Happy Days :D
