oh dear - she is yelling at 'things' - better get her a 'punchbag' cos she is going to get frustrated!
its so dam annoying being dependent on others! I remember breaking a bone in my foot - (stupid accident) and being mollycoddled. I hate being mollycoddled! so everything people tried to do for me was wrong! I was a beetch! I absolutely hated being 'helped'. it took my OH to point out that if it had been him, I would have been hovering about being 'helpful'! sort of stopped me in my tracks (tantrum). Bear that in mind Tropez! You sound lovely - if she divorces you would you marry me?0 -
My favourite fantasy author is Guy Gavriel Kay. Start from "The Lions of Al-Rassan", it's amazing! From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -
Hope things are going as well as they can. In the interests of giving you a laugh, I think talking about this has given me flashbacks. I had a nightmare last night where my nose was sort of straight half way down and then bent at about a 60 degree angle. Bit like Stephen Fry. I was looking in the mirror and feeling bad and my husband said, "It looks fine." I woke up as I was about to hit him and for the life of him he couldn't work out why I was so annoyed with him.Sell £1500

Tropez? You OK? Ish?
We worry about you a bit & hope things are being adaptable to & that you are both getting the sleep!
Please reassure us, or post a 10 character sleep deprived snarl?!0 -
Just found this thread - hope everything is going OK and Mrs T is comfortable.
Given Mrs T nursing background I would like to re-state Savvy Sue's suggestion for Stephen Donaldson Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. He's a US citizen who has contracted leprosy thrown into another world - as well as the fantasy and the good vs evil battles there is loads more including quite a bit of psychology in the minds of the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the two trilogies....and now the emerging third...and can read and re-read, always finding something new.
I've been "armless" twice in the last 6 years. First time 2008 the RH was in a cast for severed tendons. Second time 2011 LH wrist was broken. Being single I have just had to cope by myself. Actually I couldn't - Both times I had to pay vet nurses to come in and medicate/clean out my pets; I used on-line supermarket shopping and I got a cleaner in. I also had to ask for additional help. I will never forget in 2008 the wonderful support from MSE'rs who visited to help me pack to move back into my house after it had been flooded.
It has been a big lesson for an extremely active, independent, capable and multi-tasking woman to finally accept that sometimes you just have to rely on others and there is no shame in that.
Mrs T is very lucky to have you and I wish her a speedy recovery

Hello there. A quick update while I can still manage to type relatively coherent sentences. My wife is doing well, all things considered. She has her appetite back and has been dealing with her business doings over the phone. Apparently the tablet I bought her for Christmas has entitled me to something special when she's better... that's probably not what I think it is.
She's still in pain though and I still have to help her move about a bit. On days when it hasn't been quite as cold because the bedroom doors open out to the garden she's been able to wrap up a bit and sit outside for a short while. She has an outpatient appointment next week so will have to see what they have to say.
I am shattered. Work has been a pest with various things going wrong that shouldn't have gone wrong so I've been stuck in front of a laptop quite a lot. On top of that the dogs seem to think that it is necessary to bother me every fifteen minutes. Still haven't slept too well but never mind... at least I have coffee!
PS. Thanks for the marriage proposal... how flattering!

Note that we are not in any way trying to take you away from Mrs T, just that if there ever SHOULD be a vacancy there would probably be a waiting list. Not surprised you are shattered, but it will eventually start to get better.PS. Thanks for the marriage proposal... how flattering!

Well once I work out how to clone myself I'll let you all fight amongst yourselves for the clone.
As you can see, it's 5am and I'm up. Have been for an hour. I've managed to reach that annoying plateau of tiredness where you're too tired to sleep properly. :rotfl: Fortunately, I have absolutely nothing to do tomorrow... well today... so hopefully it won't matter too much.

Good morning, just been reading your thread. I too am awake but luckily I am single having got rid of my cheating ex husband some two years ago. Perhaps as a newly married I shouldn't be saying that!
Anyway I popped in to the forum to see what was newThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work unless it’s open.:o
