Great start to married life. New wife in hospital.

I agree that the Hunger Games trilogy is fantastic, and you could watch the first two films together afterwards. I also love the Discworld novels more than any other books.
The Game of Thrones books are great, but don't make the mistake of thinking the third book will be spoiler-free. The third TV series only covers about half of the third book and huge events happen in the book that haven't been on TV yet.
I hope you wife heals quickly

A clue of people have mentioned bio oil, Depending on the nature of her scar and your budget you might consider heal gel? Bio oil has done little or nothing for me.....heal gel, which I originally bought for rosacea is something I'm using a lot now. It was created by doctors at UCLH and the Royal free I think.0

Are they her dogs too? (You know what I mean, sometimes pets are definitely one person's rather than the others, especially in a new relationship.)
If so, can you take them up to the hospital and walk them past her ward window? Maybe dogs aren't allowed on site, but I know I'd be missing mine if I was in for a while.
A definite vote of support for help with the showering and hair washing. DH tried to do my hair, but until I was able to get into the shower I preferred to go up to the hairdressers. They gave me a special rate after a few visits, because all I wanted was a hairwash!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
At least you had a short time together before disaster struck....I broke my foot on my wedding morning!

Wishing your wife a speedy recovery

As it happens there is a TV in the bedroom and I had a look on Argos website earlier and found a Blu-Ray player with Smart TV functions that has access to Netflix, Lovefilm and Blinkbox on there for £99.99 and I have a £20 coupon to use so I've ordered it for collection and I shall go and pick it up on my way to the hospital later.
Thanks for the recommendations and well wishes!
Bless her, hope she feels better soon!
Re the bluray player (you might have found this already, not at the end of the thread yet) - if it's not near your router you will likely need a dongle and if it's a panasonic it'll need to be a specific one. (I got caught out last year when I bought one that played netflix online. £69 for the player down from £99 - but needed a £42 dongle to work(!) as no others would work with it - be careful

Meant to say - if she's into mysteries etc, my mum utterly loved the Bryant And May series and couldn't put her kindle down till she'd read all of them over the space of about three weeks

I shall look it up. I have no idea what that is. Thanks! Are they her dogs too? (You know what I mean, sometimes pets are definitely one person's rather than the others, especially in a new relationship.)

Dogs aren't allowed on the hospital premises unless they're guide dogs and also my wife's ward is on the fifth story! Pretty sure Mil could jump that high though if she thought there was food in it for her. :rotfl:Bless her, hope she feels better soon!

It's all good - it's a Samsung one with built in wifi. I've already got it set up
Thanks for all the continued recommendations for books, things to make her feel better and warnings!

Here you are tropez. Its also available through space nk.
I cannot use antibiotics for my rosacea because of other medical conditions and so much going on and that's why I am using it, but I have noticed its just whipping everything up in its path.
. I'd definitely be considering it in your wife's situation. 0 -
I loved the belgariad too, but if its a bit of cheesy fantasy romance she's up for (good to unwind in hospital) then try the Diana Gabaldon Outlander series, its a bit trashy, but fun, and with time travel!!
Outlander series is fantastic and not cheesy or trashy in the least. Currently the TV series is being filmed and book 8 is released later this year.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I can bring it to her attention.
I couldn't bring anything to her attention today. She was still out of it from the general anaesthetic she had this morning.0
