  • I would use anything other than a decent quality loo roll. I wouldn't care how much it cost but my bum is precious. I've had my endometrium lasered off so I saved on sanitary products there :)

I won't make stock either because life's too short and I don't like it as much.

    I wouldn't use a tea bag twice

    On tea bags.

I recently had to give up milk.

I'm ok with black coffee and stugg long with milk replacements for tea. I like some herbal teas.

DH bought be some gorgeous tea bags from :o fortnums and masons for Christmas which are perfect for my taste on the second use, a little too strong on the first. I'd make a small pot with one, but it would be cold by the time I'd had it all, so I'd rather out the bag aside and had the second cup as a perfect treat after the slightly too much first cup. I'd be very happy with leaf tea To use to my own taste.

Incidentally, I have totally gone off white and green tea, but bags of these are always stinking ly strong, enough to do several cups of tea. Unlike 'normal' tea in which a bag is always pretty perfect. I don't like earl grey dunked three times in a fey manner either:o, I like a 'proper cup of tea'. :D.

Its not about saving money though, its about getting the taste right:o

I hate instant coffee - so OH has instant and I have proper coffee made in my cafetiere (I even take it on holiday). I wont compromise on that! I quite like the Aldi Italian ground coffee - but hate some supposedly high quality coffees. so I do save money somewhere!
I draw the line at 'wee cloths' - no way!
moon cups? well, I would have tried using my diaphragm if I had thought of it...........but that time is well past!~The principle seems sound to me though.
I like my tea strong and stewed - so re-using teabags is a no-no - but they go in the composter.

Please excuse my ignorance (I am a pick and mix Old Styler) but what is a Wee Cloth, and what does TP mean?

I use a cloth to clean the bath, sink then loo, and wash it in boiling water but I don't think that's what you mean.

I don't make soup. I can't stand soup. Yuk. I've tried. I've made soup. But no matter how I try. It makes me feel ill to eat it.
???   Ponders as she finishes her bowl of HM soup.

Does anyone really use these 'wee cloths'?

I bake my own bread (not in a breadmaker)
I bake cakes and make desserts
I cook from scratch pretty much every day of the week, except pizza
The only stock I make is from veg peelings when I do a roast
I don't like food cooked in the slowcooker, it all tastes the same no matter what I put in
I only use bleach to clean the bathrooms
I put my dogs hair out for the birds to make their nests when I trim him
I'd rather go without milk than water it down

TP is Toilet Paper and a Wee Cloth from what I can ascertain is a cloth kept by the toilet to er, mop up drips rather than 'wasting' TP.
Why not go the whole hog - and go and collect moss to wipe your nether regions? just as they did in tudor times?

The thing with cloths for the loo is I cannot see it being that much cheaper. You'd create an awful lot of washing, you'd create a lot of cloths in a day, I'd think a wash worth every couple of days easily if one of you is stay at home ( ok, ok, so I drink a LOT Of water, lol) but.....its going to cost as much. Tp is not like disposable nappies, its much more breakdown able,

Have never been able to understand the fascination with making your own soup. Can't see the point when there's so many good options in the supermarkets.

Not fussed by brands generally, but won't scrimp on coffee (has to be kenco or nescafe) or meat. I always try to buy free range/outdoor bred due to my own beliefs regarding animal welfare.
I do very little YS shopping. I'll have a quick scan as I pass, but nothing more.

I can sew on a button if I had to, but not much more. Can just about turn up a hem. ;)
