As a response to the initial Q, please see my previous thread:
iPhone 4s not connecting to WiFi after software update
I'm sorry, I'm unable to post a direct link as I'm new.
Hold on, you claim that Apple says your phone has a faulty chip, but you are basing that on them not even seeing the phone?
I have a 4s with no problem. You need to get someone to check it, rather than quoting a website as being the proof your phone has a particular fault!1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

On what basis are Vodafone saying they won't repair or replace the goods at their cost? Are they saying that the goods did not have a durability issue at the time of supply or are they denying that you have any rights after the expiry of the warranty? If it's the former, you need an independent report. If it's the latter, then they are committing an offence as explained above.I have spent two days in battle with Vodafone over this issue and they wont budge not even after mentioning the consumer law claim and they just keep on saying they wont repair or replace for free. Surely they are breaking EU law?
Article 5(1) of Directive 1999/44/EC, which is often misquoted as a mandatory "European two-year warranty", merely states that the limitation period may not be less than two years from the date of delivery. Given that UK legislation already allows more than two years (as explained above), the Article has no effect upon UK legislation.0 -

If you read my thread you will see that I took the phone to the "Genius Bar" in the Apple store, Meadowhall for diagnosis.0 -

Spongle, I was referring to the OP - "bevwillstrop" - I don't see any other posts or threads by them.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Ah, sorry, my mistake - I meant to ask the OP.

I have the same problem and don't know what to do.
My wifi button just suddenly stopped working not allowing me to turn on the wifi after ios7 but it wasn't straight after I updated it.
I called apple and they sent me an email to run a test which it turns out they said it was a hardware problem not a software problem and they said about having a consumer rights claim which is something like 6 years after purchasing and if I call the consumer who I purchased from they should replace the phone for free as it is a legal requirement. I purchased with carphone warehouse and told them they said this isn't correct it is one year and I was over that. They also said that they had seen this law that apple emailed me about the 6 years warranty and in the fineprint it says something about this only applies if they consumer (carphone warehouse) sent you the phone with faults already and so I reread this and it did actually say this. I don't want to pay over £150 just for a new phone or for them to fix it when this is their fault. The guy from carphone warehouse also said many people are having this problem after ios7 and can't understand why apple aren't doing anything.0 -

You have 6 years to CLAIM for a fault that was present at the time of purchase under sale of goods laws, however that's not a 6 year warranty. The law states goods should be durable last a reasonable time, but does not define that as any particular length of time.
You'll probably need to get the phone independently assessed to say the fault was there at time of purchase then take it through the small claims court. It won't get to court as CPW will likely agree to a replacement before that, but unless you start proceedings they will do nothing.0
