Yeah, what's the "Word on the street", from Huggy Bear? Have the rozzers contacted the local fences and broken one down, or have their investigations come up against a brick wall?

Edit: How come your post made mine (of 30 mins ago) appear??? Dam interweb!

Maybe they reported it to the police to get a crime number so they can claim off their insurance?

You do realise that if you maintain their fence it becomes your responsibility forever more don't you? Best leave it alone and request they fix it referring to your deeds. Then if they don't you may need to take legal action but if you repair their fence you would really be opening up a can of worms with difficult neighbours. Be warned.

Well i made this point elsewhere , if you fix one fence panel , then your pretty much condeming yourself to fixing the whole fence as and when during it`s lifetime AND the next one!

I agree re ref number , thats what the copper said as well , but insurance claims like that work on subrugation do they not , so their insureres would look to recoup from ours....?

Sorry but you are scaremongering, It doesn't. There is simply no responsibility to maintain a physical boundary between properties.
It is in essence, a notional boundary, there doesn't have to be a wall, a hedge or a fence.

It simply exists, which is why most mark it with fence timber, wire etc.

If you don't own the boundary., then you can simply garden or fence to a line a nano millimeter your side of the line.:A:A

I liked the frozen sausage idea :)

Here's another one....sow mustard seed on their lawn to spell a rude word (a bit like the male chicken previously mentioned)

Once it sprouts, it will be displayed in glorious yellow forever more, or until the lawn is dug up
