Horses, debts and general mutterings

Good morning world
Had a few diaries in past, link to last one https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4375475
things have changed since then so thought better to start a new diary.
So a rubbish christmas and new year involving lots of flooding, luckily not the house but still on floodwatch there but the horses yard got flooded out and the field is still half under water, tis getting very boring day wading through a lake everyday
So much of xmas was spent digging out wet bedding and re-starting again. Also was ill with really bad chest infection which is still lingering but going slowly with antibiotics. Also got a lovely vet bill of over £300 from where the hossie got colic just before xmas.
Trying to sort out the house and have bought a new bed which is much needed so bigger debts than last year but lots of plans underway so new start.

So debts now stand at over £15k
Sainsburys credit card is £4546
Natwest credit card is £1519
Sofa is £663
Parents is £8650
Total debt £15,379.06
Mortgage is £154k.
So situation....
Still live with ex in house that is jointly owned. Have new OH that I have been seeing since June, he lives about hour away and we take turns in weekends of staying at each others.
The plan was to do up my house, sell it, sell OH's and move somewhere in between. Only way ex will move out is if above. Currently cannot take on mortgage by myself as too much on one salary, especially with the above debt burden too.
Now thinking slightly different. I really like my house, have invested quite a bit of time and work in it and would really like to keep it. Is close to my family and at the moment the horse is 5 minute walk away. Unfortunately I think its to far for OH to commute, but will approach that when I need to. Need to make a firm decision to commit to OH full time and make sure this is what I want and not sell the house in haste.
Ideally I would like to pay of my debt and then take on the mortgage but this is possibly a pipe dream but hey love a bit of a challenge
So debts, the sofa is 0% finance so last priority, the 2 credit cards are about 15% apr, so could apply for 0% balance transfer, will keep an eye on interest levels and wait and see. I did have an overdraft but cleared that with Xmas bonus and as long as I stay in budget will not need to dip into that again, will put it on the list of priorities to reduce this sometime.
So my first target is the 2 credit cards. Have re-listed my ebay items and have a room full to list so that will bring me in some pennies. Will carry on doing surveys and the extras as all helps. Am good with bringing my lunch in everyday and budgeting so just need to keep on top of everything
On top of this have a baby horse. She will be 3 in April, we have started to break her, just sitting on her, lots of long reining, been out on roads, so need to concentrate on progressing with herDebt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

So the good news mum gifted me some money to help with my vet bill but have put this away with some money already saved so have £400 in car account as tax due end of january and mot/service due in february so this should cover most of this.
Also have £90 in horse savings and put £10 away a month to pay for annual injections and teeth in May. She did have a vet visit end of December to do her teeth as had grown a lot so that vet bill still to arrive.Debt 13-1-25 - £39K!!!

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: at the field! How are her feet holding up in that? Even Finn, whose feet are usually like iron, has had a few chips in them this winter.0 -
Happy New Diary and a Happy New Year too BB!
Luckily for me the Captain and Noah are on high ground so their field has drained. Although they're only out for about six hours a day at the moment, both are pleased to get in the warm and dry as soon as they can!Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

The Troll (my half TBx, I had when I was younger) HATED puddles, lakes, streams, the sea, large water troughs, pretty much anything that had water or might have had water in it, with a vengance. he would stand shaking like a leaf until his fear got the better of him and/or he got enough courage up to run for home.
But...
if there was a small amount of water in his field he would whirl around and around in it till it was nice and smushy/squelchy mud hole then roll and roll and roll until he was covered in it (and if someone else had wee'd or poohed in it so much the better)
I used to say the other half of him was PIG!just in case you need to know:

Hiya BB - hope this year is a better one for you.
Oh my gosh to the flooded field. Our mares paddock floods down one end but they just move further up the hill. She is looking so grown up now.0 -
