You are right, there are no jobs whatsoever involving racing cars, planes, white water rafting, mountaineering, skiing, falconry, driving, or solving crimes.

Oh, waiit, no, I got that the wrong way round, there are absolutely loads of jobs that incorporate activities that aren't boring.

    lol.
Well in that case, you forget that he did mention that he likes football.
    Problem solved.
He should become a professional footballer and earn 20k per week! :)

It's about being realistic and not wasting his time.
Racing car driver?!! Professional skiier? Come on. Wake up and move on

what about a job that basically involved just emailing customers?
    Does that exist?

Sadly he ikes watching, not playing.

And no, no-one's saying that the OP needs to have exciting hobbies, or be a footballer, but it's clearly ctazy to say that only boring hobbies can lead to jobs. If you liek seeing the wworld the merchant navy is an option, if you like making things then there are all manner of jobs, and so on.

Even with the examples you choose, there are jobs for skin instructors or pit crew, ski hire shop workers and race-track management.

You are being weirdly specific in describing the actual function within the job, and weirdly vague in trying to define the sort of industry in which you'd like to work.

As it happens a large amount of my job infinance is done over email, but it'd be simply bizarre if I'd chosen it on this basis.

I guess the industry is really kind of irrelevant to me.

If i'm stuck in an office inputting data, I don't care it it's for a food company or a travel agency. It doesn't affect me.

I'm just trying to think of a job that I could do.

I'm not intelligent , and I don't have any advanced qualifications.
I'm better at writing than I am on the phone, though.
Most office jobs that I look at always mention lots of telephone work. Emailing people suits me much better.

OK, that bit is quite worrying, and suggests that there may be something else that you need to look at before you start trying to organise a career.

Exactly. If this had been in the original post I'm sure the replies would be a little different.

I have considered those kind of roles, but I don't think I'd really enjoy them.

Lets just lay this all down from the start:

You don't want a job in admin.
    You want a reasonable wage.
You want to enjoy your work.
You don't want to work outdoors.
You don't want to do manual labour.
You don't want to learn a trade.
    You like watching football.
    You like listening to music.
You like going on holiday. (But don't want to work for a travel agency or holiday company.)
    You like reading.
    You like learning foreign languages.
You don't want any of the jobs that the Careers Services came up with.
The only qualifications you have are GCSE's.

What this says to me, is that basically, you don't really want to work, you just don't want people to think less of you.

There are plenty of people that have to take jobs they dislike as a means to an end. Any job that doesn't fill you with pure hatred is a bigger step up the ladder than sitting at home playing FIFA 14, Football Manager 2014 and listening to music (which, ironically you're never going to get paid for.)

You have an interest in languages, why not actually TRAIN in a language? That alone--having a qualification in a language--would open up dozens of opportunities. Interpreter for people from all walk of life, translator, jobs in foreign counties, teaching and tutoring etc.

Without sounding horrible, and having seen how much help people have tried to provide you here and how you've taken it, you come across, at least to me, as very lazy, very ungrateful and with absolutely no interest in helping yourself.

Indeed - it's not the lack of a degree (as in title of thread) that is holding the OP back from a career. :(

I'm not really sure, so that's why I'm seeking advice on here.
People have asked what you like doing and your interests plus you have done the National Careers thing and still you say you don't want to do any of the roles suggested.

A part of my last job was listening to music(lots of it in many different formats), and was part of the job for most of the people working there.

it was an streaming audio product so my IT skills got me the job not the ability to listen to music.

people get paid to test video games but you need to be be quite good at them.

Is the OP willing to relocate?
