Good career options for people without degrees

Is it possible you simply don't enjoy working ?
You ever read peoples facebook status's on a Monday morning!?Some people love the work they do
Some people moderately enjoy it
Others treat it as a means to an end-they simply love the freedom it gives them to do the things in life they love with their earnings.
Which type of person do you want to be ?
I'd like to be the person that at least moderately enjoys it.0 -

Because quite obviously he should have pput in a bit thought to come up with some ideas that he both liked and that had a half a chance of being incorporated into a job. He obviously wasn't being asked just to make polite conversation.0 -

He wasn't to know it was a trick question.
In fairness, the question was asked in the context of this thread.
I did not see it as a "trick" question.0 -
The hobbies/interests question is pointless unless your hobbies happen to be unusually boring!0

Similar age.
I'm completely clueless as to what to do with my life.
I've had lots of low paid warehouse and admin jobs.
Lost my job a few months ago so unemployed and living off of savings.
Don't know what to do. I want to find a job that I don't hate and that doesn't make me depressed everyday (except Saturday when I forget about 'work')
Hobbies are football (playing and watching) and reading various forums online.
I too could have started a similar thread.
Similar age
I've had various jobs, 2 of them maybe I should have stayed put rather than moving on and the other 2 I didnt like but stuck it out.
Cant offer any advice but I'll keep an eye on the thread.0 -
How about marketing? There are many entry level positions available and you can develop a good skill-set and advance rather quickly.0

What sort of qualifications do you have? (I only have GCSE's)
What jobs were they, and what did you like/hate about them?
(Mine were warehouse jobs where I hated being treated like a slave and working lots of hours for minimum wage, and admin jobs where I either felt out of my depth because I'm useless on the phone and I hated being around really confident women who made me feel bad about myself. Felt like I was just in the way, ESPECIALLY on various temping/agency assignments. Sometimes I wouldn't even have a proper seat or a desk, and they just stuck me on a foot stall on the corner of someone elses desk!)
What I really want is to find a course or something where I can complete it within, say 6 months, and then have a decent shot at getting a job based on that qualification which will pay more than minimum wage. Something easy that even I would likely be able to complete.
Failing that, a job that doesn't require anything more than GCSE's that I'd be able to get that didn't make me dread waking up each morning.0 -

You are right, there are no jobs whatsoever involving racing cars, planes, white water rafting, mountaineering, skiing, falconry, driving, or solving crimes.
Oh, waiit, no, I got that the wrong way round, there are absolutely loads of jobs that incorporate activities that aren't boring.0 -

OK, that bit is quite worrying, and suggests that there may be something else that you need to look at before you start trying to organise a career.0
