Orange-horror itemised phone bill from Canada

It is just a wish to be honest but is based on the current out of plan cost for data on Orange. They structure it as £5 for every 250MB over data (or at least they used to). If they were to highlight the charge of £2000 per 250MB when abroad (excluding Europe) you get a direct comparison showing just how expensive the data can be. Showing per MB for abroad is clearly just a way of showing a low figure when stating prices. What is your belief based upon? Or is it just a wish?
Well, 100Mb and 250Mb allowances are not uncommon. And even for 500Mb pricing per Mb is more convenient IMO, then, say per 10Mb or per 100Mb.
NFH - I agree £3000 is still huge but so far I haven't seen any evidence to suggest the OP is actually doing anything more about it.
Lulubelle - Sorry you don't like my input, you didn't like it at the start either. In a public forum I'm still gonna give it. The help you needed has already been given in earlier posts.0 -
Well, you wanted it the same way as in UK.It is just a wish to be honest but is based on the current out of plan cost for data on Orange. For UK PAYG they quote it as 65p/Mb. I think even schoolchildren can easily compare 65p/Mb with £8/Mb and see the difference - and it's not that striking.0 -

True but PAYG is capped as you top up in advance. You have complete control of the limits you put on your phone. For you and I it might be easy but there are still people who don't know the difference between 1MB, 1KB and 1GB.Well, you wanted it the same way as in UK.

An additional point I forgot to make regarding the remaining £3000 is that under the current roaming bundles Orange have in effect retrospectively billed the OP their bundled rate for data. Their 500MB for £400 is more or less £3000.0 -
Out of interest, how many of you work for the mobile networks? If I were a mobile network I would want to follow all forums to see what people are saying.
I think I have identified two anyway, and this is due to their somewhat aggressive nature. What a way to earn a living.
Any thoughts by anyone?0 -

You are correct in the bundle rate. They effectively charged me the £400 for the 500MB bundle in order to make the bill add up to the £3000 which they eventually charged.0 -
Orange used to have an official Orange Company Representative on here, but after their last post on 10th November 2011, they suddenly vanished.0

I thought so when I did the maths. It works out at 80p a MB. Others with lower bills that have posted here tend to get the advice to ring up the network and ask them to bill as if they had taken a bundle (normally NFH is the first) as it massively lowers the bill. It is the best advice that can be given a lot of the time. I also don't work for a network and kinda prefer the fact they don't lurk in these forums.lulubelle41 wrote: »You are correct in the bundle rate. They have re-surfaced - but not officially.0
