  • Thanks again LittleBill. I didn't take your previous post as a "beat me up" and do think I should make more effort to fill them up at meal times so they don't want so much in between, it is also a good idea about the drinks, they often have a drink and snack together but may try doing a drink first and then if they are still hungry moving onto a snack.

The muesli bars look yummy, will be making those instead of flapjacks tomorrow, I keep all of the ingredients listed in stock for breakfast/bread/baking so won't need to go and get anything.

NSD again - at least the cold wet weather is good for something.
For tea we had hm French onion soup with cheese on toast. Plenty soup left for tomorrows lunch as well.
Made some bread as well earlier on today.
Have taken some mince out of the freezer as we having cottage pie tomorrow if all goes to plan. Quite please that a few 'older' things are being used up from the freezers. When I list new items on my spread sheet I do it in a different colour so I know what is old stock and what is new. Must admit some items have been in a while!!!! I don't do sell by or use by dates whether fresh, frozen or tinned.
Nice to see some new 'faces' joining us - hope your grocery bills are slimmer and your purses get fatter.

I have just had some bad news that I am going to have to find £1000+ from somewhere.
I need to cut my budget on everything as far as I can as quick as I can.

Hi - just a thought, have you got a Credit Union nearby. There is some info written by Martin on here. It is a good way of getting a small loan and not having to pay too much interest.
    All the best.

I use buckwheat with lentils in veggie burgers (nice with some onion and peppers and whatever spices you fancy), flour and potato to bind them.

There are some pudding recipes online for quinoa, that are sort of like a rice pudding that I keep meaning to give a try - this one looks tasty!
