Does anybody have anyrecipes for the oxtail? I've never cooked it before.

I'd probably just do it the same as I do any other tough meat stew in the slow cooker, veggies, stock and herbs.

    NSD again today.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.
  • A spend of £38.10 today in Home Bargains but a lot of this stuff will last a while. I now have a good grasp of supermarket prices so was quite surprised at how much cheaper a lot of things were. Have used it for some time now but today was the first time i've had a proper look without my 2 year old dragging me around the shop at high speed!
  • The is the first time I have manged to get on this week to update. Basically I have £19.01 from Aldi, ASDA and Waitrose to add to my total. With four days left until payday and only one or two bits needed in the meantime I shall be coming in significantly under budget this month. :D
    GC: Feb (16th Jan - 15th Feb) £46.25 / £50 :)
    Mar (16th Feb - 15th Mar) £61.96 / £70

Did a quick grocery shop on Saturday (A1di for bread flour, tortillas, garlic baguette, lettuce, cucumber, radish, spring onion, tomatoes, mushrooms and milk), then Mr M for a second set of tuna.

Now at £52.71 of my £220.55 budget for the month.
Should be OK, but I've still got a big trip to Costco planned (stewing steak and mince) which will make a serious dent into the rest. However I still have £110.87 left from January I could dip into if needs be (I hope not to have to, but it means I have money I can dip into for stockpiling special offers without needing to cut back on other budgets).

    NSD for me :)

Been out for dinner to some friends Ruby Anniversary and it was lovely :) we had the same menu as they had had on their wedding day!

We weren't going to bother celebrating our Ruby next year, but with the last couple of years we've had, we have decided to have a party of some sort...so have decided to save like mad for it :) hopefully that will give me an even bigger incentive to keep tabs on the housekeeping.

    Keep safe x

I am also endeavouring to empty mine for the veggie box arriving on Friday. No point allowing anything to go to waste.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.
