Just a quick update from yesterday which was a NSD.
We had turkey casserole using a large turkey leg from Christmas time. Did it in sc with carrots, onions, broccoli stalks, celery and few potatoes. Was going to add dumplings but in the end decided against it. Served it with broccoli, kale, cabbage, cauliflower. We has 3 portions yesterday, mum took two portions home and have just frozen another 3 portions. Also did a jam tart & custard which we all had plus enough left for two tonight and mum took some with her.
Off to clear out the fridge now like a few other people, it was done on Thursday but think the mess monsters have gotten in to it as everything is shoved in all over the place.MARCH £62.38/2500 -

Bluegreen - hope your wedding goes well, look forward to seeing you back with us as a Mrs
After a NSD yesterday (finally....) I went to Tesco this morning. Got veg and packed lunch bits for this week. Dog food for the remainder of the month, cheese, yoghurt, pastries and crumpets plus some store cupboard bits (u.bens long grain rice 500g boxes are £2.09 each or 3 for £3) Have tried other brands but it always ends up like pudding rice despite rinsing it
Total spend of £34.52.
We are going away on Friday and need to take a packed breakfast and lunch as we are travelling overnight/through the day on Saturday. I will go to Tesco and get us all a meal deal as a treat, breakfasts can be pastries and juice.
Keep up the good work everyone

Bluegreen hope you have a lovely wedding day and honeymoon!
Was only planning on needing ham for sandwiches this week but we decided to nip to Farmfoods this morning to stock up on a few bags of frozen bags so the freezer is full and also on a big pack of crisps. We got spinach, green beans, sliced peppers, scotch eggs, a big pack of Walkers crisps, a big pack of mini rolls, and 2 boxes of Special K Salted Cracker Crisps that were just 29p a box due to BBE date being March. Total was £6.47, so not too bad.
We still need some ham or chicken so we will go to the small Tesco round the corner tonight or tomorrow and hopefully that will be it until Friday.Thank you to everyone who posts on here0 -

Weekly shop in Sainsbugs today coming to £65.69. Bit of a shock as wasn't expecting to pay that much but on the plus side got a whole chicken, chicken portions, 2 packs of mince and a large piece of gammon which was half price and will do sandwiches for the OH for a couple of weeks. Hopefully next week will just be fruit, veg, milk and bread. I love this thread as I find the posts so inspiring and the recipes so inventive. Really makes me focus on my spends0
