sickly sweet, but neither of us have ever liked it
or a yummy hm fresh fruit salad or even a hm fruit crumble - can you have natural no fat yoghurt with?
not unless it's a soya yoghurt, but he doesn't eat yoghurt. could do it with soya ice cream though.

Made the mistake of allowing DH to tag along with kidlets on the food shop - put us £11.50 over budget. Going to do food shop online this week & use total self-restraint to keep under budget. Got both Car tax & MOT next month so things are really tight :-( if i can just get past these two month I might just get away without turning my hair grey!

Not sure if you pay your council tax over 10 or 12 months but if 10 you'll be having a couple of months off, ie Feb & Mar. Perhaps you could use that money towards your car tax and MOT.

  • Morning All, I really need to do a food shop today. My plan is to take £50 and aim to get enough food to last two weeks (at least).

I have some bits and bobs to use up in the fridge and freezer so off to take a look at what we've got and what we will need.

Bluegreen - thanks for your work on the recipe index so far. I have found it really useful. I hope the wedding goes well.
  • Hi, I know it's really late but can I please be put down for £100 this month. Have been so busy completely forgot!!

    February £91.50/ £100

  • Ok so went a wee bit overboard at weekend. Spent £200 not really planned for but here is my silver lining.

Spent £20 at chinese supermarket on dumplings and spring rolls. wont need to go back for at least a month.

Spent £52 at Asda went in to get nappies at £10 and came across some really good YS diced beef I couldnt pass up along with some more meats so if I have planned it all right I shouldnt need to buy any more meat for this month.

So based on my monthly budget of £300 (£75 per week) I am still on track at £176/£300.

Have just put YS beef in SC with veggies and lentils. Hoping to get at least 3 meals from there for 2 adults and 2 lil ones. Thinking casserole with boiled potatoes and HM yorkies then a beef and veggie pie and possibly a beef and veggie curry for freezer.

Also going to make up some sausage and stuff plaits today and have 2 packs of mince to make up meals with along with chicken breasts and chicken portions.....so lots to keep me busy and would be surprised if I have to buy any more than fresh veggies, fruit and milk.
