I did my weekly food shop yesterday spread between Lidl and Asda. I wrote my list and used the Asda website to see what everything would cost thee then went to Lidl's and brought everything on my list which they had and was cheaper than Asda would be, dropped that home and then straight to Asda or the rest. the only things I brought which weren't on the list were an iced bun for each of the boys and a bottle of wine for me and Hubby so quite pleased with my self control - need a treat or two in life after all! The percentage of the budget gone (well over 50%) at only just over 25% of the month gone is pretty scary  but really shouldn't need much now, just the fresh bit like milk, yoghurts and some veg so still definitely doable.Debt as at January 2014 £13,546.84Current £11,485.15 - 15.42% paid - moving in the right directionDebt free date [STRIKE]Jan 2016 Dec 2015[/STRIKE] Nov 2015MMH 35 - SFD 8/15 FB 266.46/240 T-O 0/0 donation 3/£3 LTW 8/10 exercise 12/12 neighbour favour? I still have some very well stocked cupboards at the moment, and only needed to get a loaf of bread and some ham for my sandwiches. Rather than go out my way to AIdi's, I popped into W8rose, which meant my shopping cost more but I saved on the fuel.
I've now spent £35.40/80 this month, which isn't too bad given I only have 2 more shops left this month. I can see myself coming in under budget this month, as I'm just far too stocked up on everything at the moment!0 -
I am going to separate out the cost for our 2 dogs and start a separate budget next month, as I want to get to grips with the cost of them overall per annum, including boosters, grooming, etc.
We do this and it makes life much easier. Although we spent more than your entire budget for February on pet food each month alone :eek:0 -
Wow Soworried those bargains are amazing. We never have offers like that around here. Here its more like 20p off something on its last sell by date or with the package badly damaged. Think they would rather ditch the stuff than let the customers get something cheap. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

I'm rubbish at picking up yellow sticker things.
Gearing up for my new month starting on pay day (12th). £180 for 2 adults and 2 cats.
Have drafted a loose menu plan for 28 days and ordered butcher meat. Last month we did a lot more veggie meals and although they were nice, we have missed meat dinners.
I've decided to try the "old style" way of doing a roast dinner at the weekend then using up the leftovers over a few days or freezing them for another week. Have ordered free range pork shoulder, half leg lamb, a chicken and side of salmon to do this this month.
Also going to make my own washing powder too - that should cut costs down a bit. I have a recipe for handwash I'm going to try also.0 -

NSD today - roasted a chicken so that was yummy with HM stuffing bread sauce etc, loads left over so will do sandwiches tomorrow (chicken stuffing and apple sauce), then will strip meat for a pasta dish and boil the carcass up and probably make soup as I have lots of veg and mash left over
