    NSD today.
Dinner tonight is home grown porterhouse steak with potatoes, corn, peas, tomatoes and squash all from the garden so a very frugal meal. Harvested the corn crop and froze it.
Tomorrow I plan on going black berrying to add to my apple glut and make blackberry and apple jelly. DH is tuna fishing in the morning so it looks like a busy day.

Sounds like you have it all sussed Kiwiblue - and lead a lovely life.

Awful weather here last night like most people, very wet, windy and scary at times. Still rough now but not quite so bad. What some people are suffering must be horrendous and so devastating knowing you cant do a thing about it.
Well today turned into a NSD mainly because son brought the paper in this morning so we didnt have to go and get one.

  • Just done my last shop of the month now, £17.83 in Ald!, that's me at my budget so no more spending now, can I do it? Not sure, I have plenty of main meals in and have topped up bread, milk butter etc so hopefully will be ok. I have a Mr T delivery coming on 21st which will be the start of March budget, so hopefully it's 5 NSD's now for me.

Will let you know after Friday, but its on special offer this week for £6.49 a bottle, so you might not want to wait till then.

How was the Prosecco? I gave it a miss as my budget is too tight this month, but was amazed to see the empty shelves at Lidl in the booze section, looks like they sold plenty!

    Hi Billie-jo

Life is certainly different here, and yes, I think we are very fortunate.
The down side is that OH was made redundant in July, we do not qualify for ANY benefits, and as both he and I have had (are having) bouts with cancer, working is not really an option. Have 2 years to go before we qualify for the pension, so are living off savings, still we certainly do try to make the most of things.
    Cheers

Kiwiblue- I am so sorry to hear of your illness and hope that with treatment you both make a full recovery. You certainly come across as positive and it all helps to get through it. Treatment for this is improving on a daily basis so hang in there. Unfortunately our daughter was diagnosed too late and we lost her 4 years ago. x
