  • Ooh Craigy, potatoes in the chip pan, I'm so jealous. I threw my chip pan out a while ago and am so annoyed about it. I real miss making proper fish and chips!

For those of you that buy pet food online, where do you buy from. I just have cats but would be interested in sourcing their food cheaper. Thanks

I use zooplus. I used to opt for the cheapest but now I opt for the cheaper better quality food su h as Smilla or Bozita as it's not packed with fillers. So in the long run it is more cost effective. I have four cats and spend about £30 every six weeks. I also buy dearer but better quality biscuits as do I cat litter. Can't remember when I last bought it actually. I have two trays and one spare and it lasts ages. I used to buy value and would be buying four a week and you could smell it a mile off. This was highly recommended on the pets forum as was the food. I normally add on a toy or bowl if I need to bump it up for free delivery. I normally get a little discount on every order by signing up to their loyalty scheme too.

    Two NSDs for me.

Got held up coming back from work and missed the Asda delivery, as he was pulling out of my road. Tried flagging him down, but he looked at me like I was mad and carried on driving. So had to reschedule to Sunday, before I'm in work.

I never have any issues with my Tesco deliveries have rarely ever needed substitutions or not available. I think it may be down to the staff/store that are picking the items. I have fully switched to online shopping now as it means I can budget more effectively. If I do end up putting a few naughty items in the basket I can assess this before I purchase. I usually end up deleting them, if I was in the shop I probably wouldn't have put them back at all.

I have never tried online grocery shopping. Think I'm too fussy and like to pick my own stuff and try to find longest date on things. Also I buy quite a lot of offers and YS - so think I would probably spend more ?

Nice surprise today - DH was not working and brought me a cup of tea in bed and said he was taking me out for lunch for Valentine's Day - Bless, he is good to me :kisses2:

Went to F Foods after lunch to stock up after running down freezers for hols. Spent £38.52 (after my discount of £2.50) but that included 18 toilet rolls, 4 kitchen rolls and washing powder all on special offer, some puds, ice-cream, frozen veg, potatoes, pastry and basics for 4x2 meals :D

Together with all the YS stuff from M&S yesterday (post lost in transit) we should have enough to eat until end of month except bread, milk, fruit and a bit of veg. Will be able to get order from butcher 1st March :j

Hope you all staying dry and safe and have a super Saturday

I can't sleep due to a combination of caffeine and the wind making so much noise outside. OH did the shopping today with a list. £28.01. Then we had takeaway fish and chips for tea at £8.80. So now up to £117/£180.
  • NSD today.
Dinner tonight is home grown porterhouse steak with potatoes, corn, peas, tomatoes and squash all from the garden so a very frugal meal.

Harvested the corn crop and froze it.

Tomorrow I plan on going black berrying to add to my apple glut and make blackberry and apple jelly. DH is tuna fishing in the morning so it looks like a busy day.

    Hi all,

Was up stupid early today, so went to Mr L,s at 7am.

Spent £35 but filled the freezer with a load of HP turkey, as well as a couple of jars of HP S&S sauce and some micro rice (easy for work).

NSD for me today. Bought a big fruit and veg box yesterday and will try and stretch that out as far as possible. Will be using the cauliflower out of the box for a cauliflower cheese for the next few days and will be looking at making a huge batch of chilli for the freezer to use up the carrots onions and potatoes. So even less chance of any waste.

Also looking to slowly clear my excess food stocks as well and clear them over the next month. So very close to 4 months since my last big supermarket delivery.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.
  • Spend of £12.50 in Mr T last night but loads of YS meat bread veg and even some YS cream cakes and trifle aswell as other chilled bits. Will update sig. Happy weekend all.
:j Good things come to those who coupon. :j
