I cleaned my kitchen cupboards this weekend and found multiple bags and half bags of dried fruit, so I made a teabread (why have I never made one before?! so easy and yummy!), and i also found a box of arborio rice (obviously a good idea at the time!) so I made a risotto too. Cupboards now look nice and tidy, as I managed to use up all the half bags of flour and dried fruit and herbs that were kicking about.

I've half decluttered my old desk, but replaced with a new one- M&D want the old one, so that's sat waiting to go back to them at some point!

Other than that, I've not managed too well, I've re-cluttered rather than decluttered! Still, I'll have another go this week and see what I can manage...

    Hi all,

Day 1 of 4 without hubby and DS around (still got my 2 DDs here) and i cleared out quite a bit of stuff this afternoon.

Amongst general rubbish etc there were 2 pairs of shoes in the bin, a set of toys sold, a present wrapped ready to pass on, a parcel wrapped ready for post office, a broken wooden box in bin and a few happy meal toys in the bin. (all in all about 1.5 bin bags full for the tip)

Got another parcel to wrap for post office run in the morning and hoping to make some more progress this evening! Going to make a cup of tea and crack on!

I decluttered a leftover sachet of facepack onto my face. :D

I have gone through the fridge and had to chuck away a couple of vegetables. I need to chop up and freeze some other veg today to make sure I eat everything before it goes off.

I need to go through a cabinet tonight to make sure I want to keep everything in there. My hubbie has an annoying habit of keeping random computer bits, cables, things like that even though he never uses them. I'm tempted to get rid and deny any knowledge if he ever looks for these random items.:o:rotfl:

We've used up a couple of deodorants, shampoo, a face wash...and not bought anymore because replacements for each are in the bathroom already.

I got rid of more clothes on Thursday. I think I'm nearing a barebones wardrobe...which is what I want! Now all of my clothes only take up half of the wardrobe - so the equivalent of a single one! I need to get rid of some shoes. I have done away with all the cheap ones I dislike but I know I don't need 10 pairs of heels. I haven't worn my Jimmy Choos or my Miu Mius more than three times each so one will go, and proceeds towards the house fund...it will be hard though!

Realised I don't need a desk and a dressing table (nor the room which only has the dressing table in!!) so I'm going to get rid of one and make it a multipurpose space as it's likely that when I finally buy - if that ever happens - it'll be a small flat so will be downsizing!
  • Hi everyone, can I join in please. I had a huge declutter last year but have managed to fill the house again. I have set a goal of being clutter free, a place for everything by Christmas.

I have been slowly getting rid of things, 5 big bagfuls of clothes yesterday and have just taken them to the CS. I have a boot full of rags and some general junk for the tip on my home from work.

My aim is to declutter 1 bag per day minimum. I am taking everything to the cs as I put things aside to ebay and never get around to it - they make so little I would rather help the local childrens hospice.

I am finding the more I get rid of the easier it is becomming as the things I thought were needed are actually not (not sure this makes sense but basically once the junk is gone then the next level of stuff just looks like junk).

Anyway I am rambling, this weekend I need to attack my underwear draw, it is huge and overfowing with things that are grey and holey :)

Been missing in action for weeks now due to wrist surgery. Managed to give away two huge terracotta garden pots yesterday. Has made the front of the house look less cluttered and it will certainly be easier for window cleaner to negotiate two less when cleaning windows.
