I used up the end of a hair conditioning treatment last night (I've had that conditioner in a drawer for about 8 years!) and I am going to bin an old battered pair of flip flops as I bought some new ones for the summer weather, if we actually ever have any.;)HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000
DECLUTTERING 2015 439 ITEMS

The cold weather and the good examples here seem to have kick-started my decluttering mojo again, thank you!!!
A sleeping bag, a duvet and a bedcover to the rough sleepers support group.
4 garments and three single sheets into the fabric recycling
5 boxes squashed and recycled
a basket given away
a bag of hardened concrete taken to the tip, and the last 5 months worth of tetra-packs finally posted one by one into the tetra-pack bank there (why don't they make the slot bigger???)
The broken folding bed and an electric heater ready for the next tip run. As DH thinks we can get the two small chests and the desk into the car rather than arrange a collection from the CS, it looks like we are well on track to clear the attic room!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Dropped a car full of stuff to the tip yesterday, tomorrow morning OH and I will nip into town before work to drop off some bags at the CS. Four huge ones to go, so will have to do it in two loads I should think (trying to avoid using the car too much!)0

I love reading how everyone else is doing
Busy this week so not much time spent on decluttering but will do a little here and there when I get the chance.Official DFW Nerd Club Member no:219In the Court Of The Crimson KingI don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.Gary Larson0 -
I haven't done much decluttering this year but intend to start again asap. Really pleased that we managed to clear the loft and took advantage of the free insulation and £50 gift card mentioned in the mse newsletter. House looks a lot better and is easier to clean but I'm still not fully happy with it.
I want low maintenance easy and quick to clean in an organised manner. Thats still work in progress.0 -
Not been on here in ages. Weight creeping up as is the stuff that's migrated into the house!!!
44) Box of pens (gone to Malawi for sponsored student projects)
45) Old carpet cleaner that was kaput (but replaced with new one)
46) 5 old plant pots
47) pair of sandals (given to a friend)
So garden, hall, kitchen, dining room and living room are all looking relatively tidy. Just need to clear the rest of the clutter there but at least I can invite someone in now without being embarassed about the place. Now I need to work on upstairs!!!!!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
Decluttering continues, but very slowly as we have recently made a couple of large stock purchases. Currently tackling the hall as we need a new fridge and they will need to get to the kitchen to deliver it
Garden is looking lovely now it's tidy, we just have to stop the pigeons eating the grass seed. Lovely day today, and a good weekend forecast, so decluttering might have to go on hold for a few days. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Hi all, very long time and no posting from me! But hoping to crack on now as everywhere is too cluttered for my liking!!
This week we used up a shower gel, charity shopped a few toys and sold 2 items. Unfortunately my charity shopping for clothes lead to about 15 items of clothing coming home and 6 books!
Managed to throw away 1/4 carrier bag of old instruction manuals/letters etc that i had stored.
Also made 2 fat quarters of fabric into a skirt for DD yesterday xDFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022
MFW Total £184,950 £179,066 to clear by 20350 -

I would love that too JIL but I also love the shabby chic look so I alternate between the two and consequently end up never really being happy with our decor. I love my ornaments and bits and bobs but at the same time I yearn for minimalism :undecided
I'll be hoping to do some decluttering at the weekend but if the sunshine comes out to play it might have to go on hold...:)Official DFW Nerd Club Member no:219In the Court Of The Crimson KingI don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.Gary Larson0 -
I think I must have got rid of about 2000 things in the last two weeks. It's been mad. Keep staying up late just throwing stuff in boxes - OH thinks I've gone mad. I have SPACES between stuff in my wardrobe. And all the books I'm realistically ever going to read now fit on my bookshelf in an orderly fashion. Feels great! Will post some pics soon!
Keep going everyone!0
