Yesterday we managed to:
* Hoover
* remove some cobwebs in the house
* Spent an hour in the garden dealing with the weed
* OH recorded 15 DVD's on his hard drive and then gave the DVD's to his dad. Our DVD shelf looks tidier and his dad is very pleased with his new DVD collection.
* 1 magazine given away to MIL
Hope you all are having a nice bank holiday weekend. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Haven't been on this bit of the forum for a few weeks at least.
Congrats to everyone for the decluttering.
For me:
22 dvds/blu-rays taken to CEX & got vouchers.
Brilliant neighbour has taken down a partition garden fence (which I have been trying to take down for past couple of years) & even took it to the local dump/tip. :T
Same neighbour has also taken a well past it garden wooden/metal chair to the dump for me as well. :T
Some clothes binned (not worth taking to charity shop)
Cupboards under kitchen sink, cleaned & items that won't get used has been binned.0 -
1 Bag of videos binned
5 bags of baby clothes sorted and bagged up for OH to put in the loft.
1 bag of baby clothes listed on facebook
4 lots of never worn baby clothes listed on ebay0 -
Couple more books to DD1's friends
Old useless shower gone....replaced with same model bought from ebay - would have cost a lot to have a new one as pipework and wiring through wall are completely different to new ones available. So not exactly an overall out but we now have a working shower woo hoo which also means some shower type products will get used up from the stash
We have quite a few ins at the moment due to our impending wedding but hopefully it won't make too much of a difference and some will be gone on the day and others sold/given away. Stack of evening invites ready to post/deliver.
2 more of DD2's outgrown dresses to the cash 4 clothes bag
In typical bank holiday style we are sorting out the garage tomorrow as it is completely rammed, mainly with stuff for the tip that we haven't got round to taking yet or I can't manage on my own - i.e very springy single bed that hasn't been used in years but was kept in spare room just in case but as said room had to be emptied for the plasterer it's now sat in the garage. So tip trip and a big tidy up tomorrow as among other thingsExtra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

OH and I have finally discussed what to do with our books. 90% are his books. All the books that he wants to keep will be put in to boxes, shouldn't be more than 2 boxes. The rest of the books will be sold or given away. It feels great that I can finally start the process of getting rid of most books.
OH have saved another 10 DVD's on his hard drive. The DVD's will be given to his dad or sold. The aim is to go through all our DVD's, probably another 100 or so.
Today we are planning to cut the hedge and prepare for going back to work tomorrow. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

I wasn't invited for the free listing weekend so my stuff will have to wait for another weekend. I'm slowly decluttering our stuff and using up things to save or make some money. Feels like a struggle sometimes...0

Finally cut the hedge today, garden bin is now nearly full.
Approximately 50 books are packed up and ready to be taken to "Cash for clothes". First MIL will go through to see if there is anything that she wants. I checked the price on Zapper and We Buy Books, it's was only 3 books they wanted so won't bother with that.
Another 6 DVD's have been saved on the hard drive.
The plan for next weeken is to start selling our CD's. OH is a away then so that will give me somehing to do.No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Hi EndlessStruggle. I know what you mean. It sometimes can feel like that but it sounds like you're doing well and even little bits here and there do make a difference

Hi Becky. That's a good idea. I decided to buy those cd wallets and got rid of the plastic cases and made room that way.
Got round to decluttering t shirts etc and now my clothes drawers are neat and tidy. Feels goodOfficial DFW Nerd Club Member no:219In the Court Of The Crimson KingI don't believe in the concept of hell, but if I did I would think of it as filled with people who were cruel to animals.Gary Larson0 -
I've done a few bits recently, but not much. I'm working on selling our old postcard collection, some of the nice ones are being sold individually. As they are such small things, I'll just count the whole collection as one item, when it eventually goes
