I threw away some paperwork, a broken drawer and some old stuff from the medicine box yesterday and rearranged my chest of drawers so it looks nice and neat.:)HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

I was going to wait until the new year to start posting, but why wait. My house needs some serious decluttering, so I am going to start this side of Christmas with the dining room so hopefully we can enjoy dinner in a nice room instead of fighting with the clutter.0

Sons bedroom was gutted yesterday and his old chest of drawers and computer desk (both falling apart) have been taken to the tip along with the cardboard from the new replacement ones. Plus 2 binbags of rubbish.Illegitimi non carborundum.0

Looks like you've all been busy recently as this thread is rather quiet.....Illegitimi non carborundum.0

I started tackling the dining room and sorted a big box of craft supplies. My daughter's craft bits are all kept in the dining room which I don't mind but they seem to be taking over the place so they need sorting through. I've managed to put a pile of paper in the recycling bin, and binned some rubbish and sorted some Easter crafts to put away for Easter. One corner is looking slightly better.
Also have
- bag of shredding to be taken away to be shredded
- bag of clothes to hand down to my niece
- small plastic box of items removed from daughter's room to bin
- two toys to the charity box (sitting on the stairs - will take it when it's full)0 -
A few more pieces out in the last couple of weeks
168 scarf – eBay
169 2 pairs socks with holes – bin
170 empty pen – bin
I think that will be about it for the year. I'm going for a weeks holiday over Christmas ( going on 20th), and won't do any de-cluttering between Christmas and new year.
Last year I de-cluttered 380 things or batches of things. I knew I wouldn't be doing so much this year, but had hoped to do 200. But my grand total for 2014 is 170.
Next year will see an upturn in de-cluttering activity.
I hope to go through our wardrobes and get rid of things that are worn out or don't fit anymore. Also, I intend to get rid the larger things that are hiding in the loft, and look at the garage and the shed. I've been de-cluttering on and off since 2010. Some things have survived other de-cluttering culls, so this time the intention is for them to go!
Hopefully there'll be a 2015 de-cluttering thread, so I'll join you there.
In the meantime, have a Merry clutter free Christmas! :xmastree:Early retired - 18th December 2014

I attacked one of the hall cupboards last night. I was initially on the hunt for a roll of brown parcel wrap but alas no joy. Did find 14 rolls of Christmas wrapping paper so I will have to resist the lure of 19p M&S rolls this year.
75. Built up the shelving unit for storage.
76. Recycled the boxes from the unit.
77. Never worn jeans to cs bag
78. Jeggens to cs bag.
79. Large cardboard box recycled
80. Pair of boots to cs bag
81. Reorganised boots and shoes into new shelving unit
82. Organised gift bags and wrapping storage.
I also found a few gadgets that I will bung on gumtree.No buying toiletries Graduated May 2017Decluttered 2016 2469 items, 2017 1580 items :j2018 3060 itemsSealed Pot Challenge No 0380 -
Hello, May I join in?
I moved here a year ago and had a mammoth de-clutter before I moved. Now, a year on I realise that a mahoosive house full of stuff does not fit into a 'normal' 3 bed! I have been taking a bag/box of stuff to the charity shop each week, just little ornaments and things that don't suit this house and make it look so cluttered.
I will start in January setting a target for each month to get rid of things, you all seem so good at letting go!0 -
Hi everyone, I am going to give this a go too this year. I will not get started before Christmas but I will have some time off over the holidays to make a start at least. The main thing I want to de-clutter is my craft items which I no longer need.Barclaycard: £4,217.55/£5 = 0.11% | Tesco £3,810.55/£3,770.55 = 1.05%

Car Loan: £9,217.20/7,527.38 81.67%
