Hello everyone,
I hope I am not too late in joining in but after having had the good old LM a couple of months back we as a family have started the process of decluttering amongst a mirage of other things to sort out our debts. Decluttering also links being able to make some money and both pay off some debt and pay for a few things here and there along the way.
I so need to declutter BIG time (I am such a hoarder) but also need some motivation of a kick up the behind to sell stuff on Ebay, do a car boot sale before winter is upon us and I am doing a Nearly New Sale which I can be lucky to make a few quid at
I do have a bad habit of moving things from A>B though and thinking I have cleared things out but not really having done so and I find I create more mess in the processso this thread will (hopefully) make me stop and think about this bad habit I have and hopefully motivate me to sort myself out!
I do have currently a ream of clothes that I can't be too bothered with and have them currently stacked into 2 charity bags in our hallway (keeps growing). I wonder what your experiences are with cash for clothes and what they are like? if this is the wrong place to post this question please can you point me in the right direction?
Thank you everyone and you are all very motivational and inspiring

I am going through my wardrobes again today and getting rid of anything that I don't like or wear! I keep just rifling through my clothes and I don't like most of the stuff I have. Someone else should be using it. I'm also getting rid of a quilt (not sure how yet) and a lamp and a few other bits will go to CS.
I was watching a show called Hoarders last night and they have a psychologist come in and professional helpers to clear the house. Some of the stories were very sad as to why the people started hoarding in the first place.HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Day 2 of mission sort commenced yesterday and went well. The remaining craft stuff was re-homed along with some "extras" 3 folders of cross stitch mags, lots of (unused plasticine and a bit of fimo) and a game I've never played. I am
to see the game go but since purchase in 2007, I've never played it!
I am trying to be as ruthless as I can. I am also trying to properly sort rather than move stuff from one box to another and then hide in the loft. I sorted through my puzzles yesterday and put out 2 or may be 3 bags for the charity shop. Two bags (so far) of books. more paper for the recycle bin (do you think I could commission my own pick up?!) and a box full of confidential waste. not sure what to do with that. would take till xmas and beyond to shred and would also have to buy a shredder first ! Also a bag full of wool to be rehomed.
Day 3 sort to begin shortly...0 -

Hi FG, welcome to the thread.
I took a bag to a C4C shop, I got £3.10 for 6.2 kilo of clothes. That was 50p per kilo. Have a look around for the highest paying shop before you take your bags in and make sure you have heavy items, shoes, belts, handbags etc. to make it worth your while.
I wouldn't go again to be honest but if you need cash anything is better than nothing. HTH.S.P.C. 9 2016 No. 062 Banked £337.50

i used a cash for clothes once and to be honest the small amount they gave, i feel better giving it to a charity shop and thinking im doing a good deed. it depends on what youve got and how much you need the money but that was just my experience.SPC~12 ot 124
