Well I think i got rid of over 1000 items today. Did a giant car boot- took 2 cars. I used 480 price labels so know that there was that much but then also at least 60 items clothing, lots of garden stuff and lots of items were bagged up in groups.

Stopped at Oxfam with 1 small box and 2 ikea bags of stuff on the way back. 2 big items (going to put on cheapcycle) plus 1 M&S longlife bag of stuff back into the house- not bad when started with 2 crammed 4X4 cars.
That's fab! How much did you make and what will you spend it on?

The children (teens) had their own pot of money (so not sure but at least £100 between them) and we got a smidgeon short of £400.

hello all, can I join in please?
I keep starting and stopping the great declutter :(
Have been in this house nearly a year now and it's time to get it done.

    Today:

a whole bag of hedge trimmings
3 tops from my "drawer I never open"
old newspaper I was using for decorating dusrsheets
a coat I havent worn for 10 years whcih has moved house with me. Twice. :p
some dog food he wouldnt eat
a drawerf ull of paperwork (shredded)

I want to get the whole house cleared and redecorated. For many reasons including my health I came to a grinding halt after I moved, and am only just feeling I can get going again.

I live alone so there's only me to blame. :o

    :)

This thread has motivated me to declutter even more! At first it was easy there was lots of stuff I could easily part with but after reading this I have become even more ruthless-thanks!! My mum has recently moved so was forced to sort all the stuff I was storing at hers! Sold lots of stuff on fb and did a few car boots which motivated me as it was all extra pennies towards our trip! I had about 5 car loads!!
Off on our honeymoon tomorrow but feels good knowing I'm coming back to a less cluttered house!

    - Binned some more OOD medication/cough syrup I found!

    - Binned an old baking tray.

    - Calling council today to get some more rubbish picked up.

    - Rotated new conditioner into the shower and used up end of old one in place of shaving foam for my legs.

    - Recycling put out and added some takeaway menus I was keeping for no reason.:D
